No, I'm gonna get them built normally. I can use a "normal" balanced preamp around the house, I don't have any right now. It'd be nice to try them with the A2s and A5s.

Edcor 600:15K (you have two versions, bigger one (physically and by W) capable of higher swing) is having CT both on primary and secondary, so made for balanced/differential
600:15K nominally means 1:5 voltage-wise
btw. transformer is inherently balanced Beastie, per se
when you have CT present, it just gives us less headache to incorporate it in rest of circuit

The analog method to determine what I'm getting from Edcor is to install and measure. If incorrect it will become part of my stash of critters.

I can't say, without knowing their winding chart, is 600:15K same as 15K:600

but if they're made with some tricks, then having them backwards isn't optimum

Now I don't know what is required. 1.5x or 5x for the Iron Pre. I have two possibilities. One is wrong. I made one choice TBD correct then. If wrong, I will re-order and not run backwards. I wire large 3 phase trannys backwards to run 440V motors on 220V. The scaling is totally different I would imagine.
I got those to amplify an SE signal... I will look into ZM's advice.

if you want to use said xformer to achieve with it voltage gain of 1:5 ( it can be wired in whatever combination of Bal and SE), you needed to order 600R:15K
ask Edcor can you use ordered 15K:600R wired backward
just a reminder, whatever xformer brand/type is used in Iron Pre (be it SE or BAL), all of them are 600:600

Enough gain to drive F4 dual mono. Have stock and higher gain BA-3 pre to test. Then Iron Pre after long wait is priority.
To play well with MonoBloc MOFO's. Later when Dual Mono F5Tc finished. Sony VFET series 1, M2, etc.
Then I have it wrong and will put in bin and order 600R:15K. 😳
