@EUVL PCM58 is interesting DAC, it was built by @chi0001 #5089 ( #4639 + update #6244) ... he also built the AD1862 and PCM63, he can compare the sound

It is unfortunately that Scott is no longer at the forum to ask.
But I tried this exact circuit using PCM1704 and OPA1611.
The cap to Gnd actually caused huge distortion in this particular combination.
Removing the cap, and the world is normal again.
Of course I have not tried with AD1862 and AD797.
Only want to say that this should be treated with caution.
Some discrete IV circuits have an input impedance of ~20R, and they still sound very good.
Which is what led us to go with 27R passive IV followed by a 100x voltage amp.
The latter is of course very similar to any MM phono preamp.
So many choices with opamps or discrete.

It is not available NOS from Rochester, etc., only from Chinese sources.
I don't like using components of unknown original.
You don't know whether they are genuine or what they have been through in their lifetime.
The rest of my audio equipment is too valuable to be put to such risk.
If I cannot get it from legitimate sources I'll give it a pass, however cheap.

Yea. I've been wanting to try it out for a bit, but I was also thinking that in the medium term if I had a legit business I could maybe convince companies like win-source that seem to have a stock of things like AD1862N-J to sell to me.
Win-Source is not a trusted authorized dealer of these AD chips and would not buy from them.
I tried to make a purchase from them a few years ago, didn’t go well. They showed plenty of TDA1541A in stock for a good price, I bought a couple. Got an email the next day saying they were out of stock but could get them from another supplier for 3X the price!

Not just AD, but also TI, BB, NXP, .... etc.
They get those directly from the manufacturer after EOL.
DK is just acting as an agent for Rochester, so that you don't need an accounter at Rochester.
Much easier especially for non-US buyers.
MoQ >250USD still applies.
