Dear Nandappe!
Do you like SB20FRPC30-8 more then orginal Visaton bg20?
Yes, I like SB20FRPC30-8 better.
My favorite ranking of 7" - 8" I own.
SB Acoustics SB20FRPC30-8 > MarkAudio CHR-120 > Visaton BG20(adding magnet) > Sica Z004950 > Visaton BG20(original) > FOSTEX FE206Super
Friends and I did a shootout few weeks ago
SB20FRPC30-8 -> Seas FA22Z -> Dayton PS220 -by a far margin-> Lii Audio 8" that's NLA.
The SB had better, deeper bass, smoother midrange and the best highs i heard in any fullrange 6-10" driver!

I know very little about crossover design but I fed my measurements into Xmachina with a flat target curve and got this.anyone do a filter to balance the 3-9 KHz peaks?

anyone do a filter to balance the 3-9 KHz peaks?
I think the 3k-9kHz peaks are no problem.
I don't mind listening to it at all.
I guess one man's harsh breakup is another man's audio bliss.... (I confess I haven't heard them)
MH Audio has a parallel notch calculator here: http://www.mh-audio.nl/Calculators/parallelnotchfilter.html,
my guess for starting point values is 4.7 ohms, 0.15 mH, and 5.6 uF

I find the better manufacturers Data sheets OK to use, Xsim is too time consuming, I'm happy with the results of my old-school methods
Hello Nandappe,
Thank you for testing so many drivers & designs. I’m curious to build these as they are cheap and look like they have great performance.
I have found your plans for DDVP-20, but cannot see what thickness of plywood you use in your design. Could you please confirm the thickness of plywood and amount of stuffing materials you recommend?
Edit: I then immediately found the wood thickness after posting this message. My apologies for your time!
Also what distance do you recommend these cabinets sit away from a wall?
Thank you!

The drivers are back in stock at Solen.ca. First listening using a 15"x24" piece of foam core as an open baffle gave a very positive reaction. The SB replaced a Fane 15" full range in my system and given the difference in Sd held its own.
The bass is a little softer, but sound is great.

Freddie, check out Rene. I love his playing! That sounds terrific and contender for best recorded loudspeaker sound at Youtube. I'm impressed. (right now I'm on cheap Oneodio cans Peace-Eq-ed to the Harmon target - will try later with Hifiman HE400x4 and T50RP-w. Brainwavz pads) that''s a wonderful recording and very joyful sound with the drums -drumstick/cymbal/piano nuances.
btw I could use some drum tracks (jazz preferably) to evaluate some of my Karlsonish toys - would you have recommendations ?
Very nice one!
On a different register and setup, a little more space between the notes 🙂 I also like this one:

Man, that SB sounds great on the videos, and it's only 60 bucks. I may have to play with one of those someday just for fun. I love horns, but for the cheap price, I have a few pair of cabinets that could work to try them out, and I could always gift them to one of my friends to have much better sound than their little bluetooth fart boxes.😁Glenn.
I played the video introduced by Drummer2005 with SB20FRPC30-8.
This kind of pulsive sound is better with BLH oriented drivers like Fostex FE Super Series and TB W8-1772.
