boyz, anyone listening these amps, yet?
PSU now fixed and the amp rebiased.
Strangely, the bias on both sides settled at about 196mA as the heatsink temp rose.
And it sounds really lovely, very well balanced, very clear and neutral. Need to do more listening, but the reward is looking worth the struggle.
No Porn, No Glory
and accolades to Pa .......
take care, without these, amp can self-implode in month time

The only place I have put a NTC is between the star gnd of the PSUs and the incoming mains earth (chassis).
Garf,
Could you please explain to me why you would use them in this manner (honest question)?
Thanks, James
Yep, just lifting the earth to restrict the current flowing between the gnd and earth at different potentials...well I think that what I've read and understood.take a look at any FW PSU schematic
they're in role of hum-breaker
Thank you both.
Now I need to another question and what does the “FW” abbreviation stand for Zen?
Thanks, James

Thanks Zen.
I have checked it out many times and the DIYPass site, just did not know of that acronym.

you're still in zone of jeopardy of self-imploding amp ......

you still owe some more details about your impressions, in context of your system

I owe so much...where to start...
As I mentioned in another place my amp experience began with Naim (Nait 1, 32.5/160), on to Avondale and on to a DIY Krell KSA50, by way of a F5T. I found the F5T too, hmmm, bright and detailed for my speakers at the time. The KSA50 really powerful and trades a little to imaging and overall finesse; but it is a lovely amp, takes some beating. At least it broke me away from the Naim house style.
And now I have a Threshold Stasis clone and boy is it different from the Krell. The Stasis has that lovely ability to mix detail and music, generates a wonderful soundstage, spot on imaging and delivers a fabulous natural, neutral sound without adding any "rounding" out of the sound, especially voices. The sound is quite real and very musical. I'm impressed.
Other bits in in the chain. RPI streamer (roon and tidal), USB into a 2x4HD miniDSP (just used roll off LFs for the subwoofer and volume control), Status amp, a pair of 1972 vintage Quad ESL57s and a XXLS400 sub.
I await the release of magic smoke and the collapse of the amp into a pin hole sized black hole...i can feel it coming.

mission accomplished ..... Mighty ZM got alive after being thrown in another Papa's Black Hole, luckily without Human sacrifices

2R2 to 4R7 can't harm
Just noticed that the build I have has 22R as the base resistors. I did have a google about their impact on amplifiers, but I couldn't make head n'tail of it.
