If you want bass there's always sunn0))) all dropped A bass guitars. YouTube
I prefer it to Bach even though they also like to perform in churches.
I’ll have to try that later today!
Jazz too, his harmonic inventions are a huge inspiration. It’s not easy to get away from J.S.Bach. (e.g. 60ies-70ies British rock was full of him)
I see big tubes in there.
Hey, those are Sunn Model T's! Don't see those around much.
Any Messiaen organ music fans? I find some of it a little chewy but generally wonderful.
I love most organ music. My father in law, who was a great musician (played with many orchestras, some film scores..), hated them - "bloody fart boxes"
Thanks JimHey, those are Sunn Model T's! Don't see those around much.
By the grill looks, they are of the 1st or 2nd generation, not Fender reissues

I was at a performance des canyons aux étoiles in 1987. Trippiest experience with no drugs involved ever. I came out of the concert feeling completely drained and with little recollection of what had happened.
Yes - amazing stuff.

A place I have always wanted to visit.
ThanksI think Jacques Loussier was there first

The timber of the notes of the acoustic bass are more difficult to be reproduced properly compared to the almost continuous low notes of an organ, plus the harmonic structure of a hard plucked chord does not allow our brain to properly synthesize the missing fundamental, thus we don’t ‘hear’ it reaching low.
Before leaving the chapter of J.S.B. I would like to add my two words that the emotions generated from his music have not much to do -if at all- from the bass by impressive large organs. On the contrary IMO it has to do with the austere composition of the script asking for a terse interpreter (enter Karl Richter, Glenn Gould, Jascha Heifetz, Pablo Casals, Andres Segovia)

All true George. For me the biggest issue with organ music at home is the rendition of space around you.
My #1 Bach composition is Cantata BVW29. Now this comes in a variety of versions, from orchestral to full on big ****** organ. Compare and contrast.

Apologies on the second one for the long introduction, But Diana Bish does OTT better than many . I like both but the first link is definately more 'Bach'.
And of course most people remember it from the Wendy Carlos version YouTube
