Not at all. The problem is that you are wrong about people, something outside your area of expertise. You should stop trying to diagnose people as the cause of audible artifacts in audio systems and just tell the truth: You don't know why people report hearing small effects in audio systems and you don't know how to measure what they are hearing.

Interaural intensity differential is based on the distance from source to each ear, and the intensity falls off differently for near field planar (relatively constant), linear source (1/R), and point source (1/R^2)

Again, the film is just charged by the HV with a surface square resistance of 10^6 Mohm and not charged by the audio signal.

The polar plot was meant to show the effectiveness of the sound dispersion with the delayed rings that you doubted to work.
If you want polar plots with different HV voltages, just do it yourself an stop instructing others what to do.

A "core problem" was missed by me? Really? You mean, beside the quite substantial core problem of your constant lying and the tales of mystery and imagination?

If you have a real world example and real evidence, not just products of your vivid imagination, I'm all ears ...err,um...eyes and will of course address it accordingly. But we both know that you have not, don't we?

Is the audio field an exception or do you feel the same about other interests, like books, movies or restaurants and recommendations/evaluations?
I accept recommendations for new music to try off people. That is an area where there is value and I have found lots of great music thanks to people on here. Not much I would use for critical analysis though.


Other than animated movies for the kids I don't manage to watch many films.

The measurement brings us back to the question about the correlation between measurements (or measured differences) and hearing sensations.
Short to medium term I'll settle for the best measuring I can afford to build. Will give me a baseline for when I get time for critical listening and a better room to listen in.

I’d prefer to think my audio hobby is a like minded shared experience.
I have 6 kids. Chance to get lonely would be a fine thing 🙂

I’m dealing with grandchildren now and their need to fill a curiosity about tweeter dome compression ratio, knob spinning, button pushing, etc.

Solved the first one with inverted dome tweeters! 😀

There’s a thread for music, but not much actual discussion of the music goes on there?
 
If you coated both sides of the membrane and the membrane relative dielectric is 3, surely you would have the problem of an extra larg(er) capacitor interposed between the two that exist either side of the single side that is coated and would possibly create problems? Since the membrane is extremely thin (3u) relative to the airgaps either side, the additional relative dielectric increase is minimal.

Hard to believe Peter Walker would have missed something as fundamental as that. After all, he was by all counts a genius.
