With all due respect to X, the WAW/FAST concept has been going around way before X's RS225/10F build; however XRK971 has a number of superb FAST/WAW builds till date, both with active and passive crossovers.
Good thoughts TimbreAudio, but who is your target market? If it is diyAudio, then from the interest around X's thread looks like there will be interest in a "kit" of sorts. Not sure how commercially successful you can be, as us DIYers look for good value, and may/may not be willing to pay a price premium.
You mention the KEF LS50 Wireless - if it is folks outside of diyAudio, then do you have the marketing muscle and brand to make get the message out there? Also be careful of aesthetics, dimensions etc - lot of folks who are buying in the commercial market are more concerned about convenience, compatibility with domestic environment, brand, aesthetics - vs sublime sound at the expense of these.
There is, but i suspect you could face some uphill work getting people to pay attention.

I was thinking a true 2 box system, less elaborate casework but kinda like the Kawero speakers. So the full range driver just has a Speakon connection to the active main box, and rests on top, with some cleaver Sorbothane isolation bits.

Yes, of course., I never implied XRK971 invented the FAST concept.
I mentioned that one because the thread is at 1,862 posts at the moment.

I think the trend is with smaller speakers, like the LS50.
The "hipsters" will never put a big tower of woofers in their studio/bachelor/loft kind of place.

There have been a number of protos and other experiments. All the micro-size minOnkens come with plans for supporting bass helpers/stands (as per pic 1), and a few have been done for the larger ones as well, and the option is doable for most stand-mount miniOnkens.

I've had the idea sketched on paper for years, the ideal was to call in Quartet, and have 4 bass modules and 4 MA full range drivers.
But I think making it a bit more 'open source' and a bit more like the PureAudioProject approach with ability for different drivers to suite different rooms, budgets, tastes etc might be able to sell a few. perhaps

Gold & Grey are both outdated artifacts from the 1st gen when there were both gold & grey cones. With the Alpair 7 and A12 the colours changes to copper & silver.
If you have had the old colours, use of their names on the new colours is misleading. May be there because they had lots of stickers to use up. A peeve of mine.

Sounds like you have an opportunity to make a center channel speaker for someone.
Out of interest, why bother with the Pluvia when the 7MS is the top dog at that size?
Oh, that makes sense, I remember you saying you wasn’t especially enjoying the 7MS, was that running full range? If so, it’ll be interesting to hear if you like it more once relieved of bass duties. I absolutely love my 11MS but they are crossed over to bass cabs at 250hz.
