The Muses chip it’s really interesting but as far I know is max 20K pot but maybe I am wrong?

No - the entire thing has nothing to allow it to be mounted
It is a digital volume control - the muses chip is the primary element but there is a programmed chip to control all the functions and allow for remote control and display

The muses pot itself should be installed as a normal pot... no doubt here. Regarding the LED display, I can see from the picture that there are mounting holes on the pcb (at least the 2 that I can see). You can use those with small standoffs as support?

You are right 6L6... I didn’t noticed that the encoder is not threaded
You can find threaded versions, Bourns or Alps...
Here is a manulal for Meldano's volume:

Meldano's suggest Alps EC11B types, but I just found vertical types.

thank you - now that you say, when I was ordering parts , the specified part was vertical and I substituted for the horizontal but clearly wasn't paying attention to one of its most important functions.
