New fully discrete output stage installed but not yet tested. Can't wait to fire it up and compare with previous OS!

Have everything set-up but can't test it as the default volume on new dac is setup too low and I can barely hear at 100% volume on my integrated.
Can't increase volume unless I've an apple remote. Just ordered an apple remote on AliExpress as it's not available in my country and I have to wait for a month to try the dac 🙁
I wish the default volume was set to line level in the firmware.

I am in the process of making a software version for you that starts at 100% volume.
But you will need a serial port and a windows pc

Why? just use the first remote you have. I did so. be careful that the dac will 'learn' that remote and stick to it afterwards..
Then You have to 'scan' the 'randomly'distributed functions on the remote's keyboard..
Get back into childhood and play.. After you discovered where the right buttons are, it just works ..

ps.: suggestion: use a 'many buttons' remote, so you have greater probability of not having 'hidden' features..

Thanks Sonny for your help. I got the serial to usb adapter and windows pc ready but travelling over week end. Will try when I'm back early next week.
It would be nice to have line level output option for those who don't need pre-amp functionality. I still need to get few parts to finish my tssa v4 amp (for which I acquired the modules from fellow forum member), till then I'll need to use the dac at line level.

Thanks Joseph for the advise. I didn't have any remote for the dac in the first place. I didn't buy it as I thought it would have line level.
I tried two different remotes one set-top box and other a tv remote which didn't work. I gave up thinking it would only work with apple remote.
Now I get it from what you say. I'll try other remotes too I have 😀
Now be careful that it could have happened what I described: the dac has a 'learn' algorithm, probably had recognized the very first, casual remote that yoz have used: after that, it really do not react any more to tje other remotes. Either you pull out again that very first one, or you execute the 'remote dis-accredit' procedure as described by Sonny in the manual.
(Careful, that there is some hiccups also there, Sonny could clarify better that part)
Once had executed the 'disconnect', 'unlearn' procedure, you carefully choose the best fitting remote that you have, at the first 'contact' the dac will learn and sticl to the new unit..

Maybe later on I will make a new frontend for the base block, to test a new bias circuit.
Sonny, please tell me which filter in your opinion is better at audition: 0; 1; 2; 3;?
Thank you.
