The New Hypex Fusion Plate amps

Well I suppose I can tell you guys the real motive for my interest in these plates.

My wife recently gave me an ultimatum. She says either I go, or the cables and boxes in my hifi rig go. So I asked her, if I can just keep the speakers in the room only, if she would stay. She said only if the cables connecting to them were very thin, and less than 1m long between them and the wall. So at this point I knew if our relationship was to last, the only solution was to go with an AES67 based plate amp. Since I'm a dyed in the wool Hypex fanboy going back some 10 years now, I knew there was only 1 solution to keep my marriage alive. Which is why I started this thread. :)

Just giving constructive feedback. I will be producing systems for active speakers. But they will be very high end and far more expensive. It would be nice to have a lower end option for active speakers based on The MP series that could be used for home theatre.

Just curious to know if you have finished your DEQX work-a-like using raw DSD processing ? Must sound better than anything else heh ;)

cheers

Yes, but the clock of the dac and src are still an internal oscilator. AES67 is just a distribution system to get the information at the same time at all end point. Sonos does this, RAAT from Roon does it also.

The huge difference is the clock sync, and the fact that the unit spits out the I2S directly without any intermediate conversations in the middle. Reclocking is just a bandaid to help with jitter, but it's not a cure all. With AES67 the audio doesn't see any clocking until the endpoint. This allows using a single clock with no PLL's at all to clock everything. Also if you use fiber optic Ethernet PHY's, there no possible way for any upstream noise to make it into the system.

Where can I find a Roon RAAT board that spits out I2S directly? With hands on experience with these boards, the sonic advantages become very clear.

Here's an example of a similar cabinet design. But that one used wooden dowels and glue. My new system uses steel rods and bolts with no glue. I have a cutout on the back of the woofer cabinet for the Hypex 2.400D plates.

The Fusion series will have 8 models in total; there will be 1-way, 2-way and 3-way models based on Ncore technology and DSP based on adau1701.
The Fusion series will be available for OEM and DIY (Fusion...).
Hope this helps to get things clear ;)
Now, this is damn interesting.

Finally, a good plate amp, workable with a three-way system.

Almost everything around is two-way stuff, so you need a double set of amp in each speaker.
