There are four output devices ea with 80mA at 50v so 4 watts ea X 4 plus the drivers so probably 18w at idle and significantly more when playing music. Mine are warm but not too hot - can touch it for 10sec easily. Do you have photos of yours mounted on heatsink?
Well, normally the heatsink is moderately warm at idle or relatively low listening volumes.
It will become considerably hot if you run a 50W sine wave constantly during, say, 30 minutes.
Paulo, you've got the good heatsinks - even a bit bigger than our reference ones.

Well, also an option, but you loose accuracy a bit in this case. I prefer increasing R29, simply shifting the trimming threshold. This difference in the value required may be caused by some difference in the parts characteristics. Most likely - the red LEDs used by Paulo are giving a little bit higher reference voltage.
I'm using 1.8V leds. Is there an impact on the sound by using a little higher voltage drop leds?

Paulo, that's OK. We just had to correct the resistor value in bias spreader, but as soon as we've done that - no problem.

Thanks! 🙂
Canada Post is set to possibly go on strike on Wednesday, so if anyone is interested in VHex+ boards, supplies, parts kits, or any other boards, please let me know as soon as possible. Monday could be the last chance for me to ship boards for a reasonable cost for a while.
Nice.
Please share all the SMPS files (schematic, pcb).🙂

The ferrite transformer used is the EI33 , can be found in side burning soures ATX computer(dcrap) andre used.
The primary consists of 40turns of 22 AWG wire(only1wire)and the secondary consists of8+8 turns of 19AWG wire(2wires together in parrallel.
I get in 35v dc

Greetings to all my vhex 1.1 in fitted diy case
Nice build! I see a digital player embedded on the right.
So, this is a media center then 🙂
Is it the schematic available?Sir thimios attached pcb file download in other site

Can you give details about transformer?
Hi Sownel, can you give some details about transformer winding?
If you have the schematic diagram please post this here.🙂

I vaguely remember this SMPS from another thread in this very forum, a Brazilian amp design using this PSU (hence the portugese file names)Sir thimios attached pcb file download in other site

Ok, I am waiting with great anticipation someone versed in layout design to make Diagohex Gerber 🙂
