I don't know. Your output is a push pull stage and yet shows that very asymmetrical waveform indicating enormous even harmonics.Ok, then is reducing the gain the right solution?

Nice ,waiting your listening test!Zero feedback valve preamp from post 4994. Almost done.
Hi All,
Please suggest me an amplifier for my home with excellent bass quality to drive my 10" Bolton woofers.
I already have 5 Amp 40VCT, 4 pairs of 2SC5200 & 2SA1943, 4 pairs of MJE15032 & MJE15033.
Please note that 2SC4793 & 2SA1837 and many more jap. transistors are hard to find in Kolkata, India. Replacement for 2SC4793 & 2SA1837 is also required.

I'm interested with SR150, but unable to fetch schematic and pcb layout in pdf. could you please share if you have it.
Thanx for your quick reply.ax14, or SR150.

Please Guys ... can anyone tell me the output power of the A40 and A33? and what is the basic difference between the two? i'm going to build and want to know more about them
Thanks
Thanks

search the forum, there is a thread about SR series in first ten pages now. i did SR150, use my latest files in that thread (BC516 instead 2n5401 in protection circuit).

you should see a schematic and compare them. you can also find sound impressions here in thread.

You can find the zip file for the SR150 here.

They have exactly the same power output. The main difference is in the VBE multiplier section. See attached schematics. They sound exactly the same. IMHO

thank you .... i'll compare them ... which one you advice me to build first according to the sound impression

Thanks a lot mr.Terry you always help me ... what about the output power i think it's will not less than 200w @4ohm ?

That will depend on your power supply.
Sorry, I forgot the A40 has an extra pair of outputs. it will probably do a little better with the 4ohm load. Both are plenty powerful.

okay i will start with the A40 with a power supply of Dual 50v
I bought a couple of boards of a forum member I finally sparked up and they have a fault. This is the DX14 with two pairs of darlingtons. TIP141 and TIP146.
Same in both so it looks like it may be an assembly problem, ie wrong component. I check all resistors and transistors and it looks in order. supply Voltage is +/- 45V.
The voltage across the bias transistor was very low, I will show a schematic. There was also no bias going through the emitter transistors.
What happened is eventually Vbe now 0V across the bd139 bias transistor and its got full -45V rail on the output. Before this transistor failed it had 13.8V on the output.
Any ideas what caused the intial condition that blew the bias transistor?
