The Incredible Technics SP-10 MK3 Thread

.
OK, the drive voltage is rough, but as I said I can't see that it could be any other way. The drive waveform doesn't really change much relative to VR101 on mine here. I'll have a look on Sunday though. I can see ways to improve it but that would need extra circuitry.

I have left it running for 24 hours but not with the cover on, yet.

You have amazing patience and your work is great ! I had an EPA100 with so many issues I gave up and sold it for a profit and fitted a SME V to my MKII SL-1000.

I was going through the posts on sp-10.jp and found some text that said later production units came with Q260 attached to the heatsink, and also mentioned oscillation problems when doing so which I assume is the problem I ran in to.

This pic shows a small PCB on the transistor, with a film cap across what looks to be the collector and base. What value would be appropriate for this?

They also mentioned that they began replacing all mylar caps as the originals were noisy. I wonder if there's any merit to this?

That's the EPA-A505. Not much info out there on it, but my understanding is that it was Japan only. The plastic case has all the info for the P100CMK4 pre-populated, so my guess is it was bundled.

Came across it one late night a few weeks ago on agon of all places. Never thought I'd find one. I think most folks believe it doesn't really exist.

The counterweight, etc., looks like an EPA-100. The arm tube like a normal EPA-500, and headshell like nothing I've seen. How is the cartridge attached, or is that part of the assembly? It looks like a screw from the headshell into the cartridge's side.

I know it is sorta OT, but how about some close-up pictures?

It's not off-topic at all. I would love to see some photos.

That said, that particular armwand (EPA-A505) is P-mount.

Some more photos can be found upon the interwebz -

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

These are all I have for pics at the moment, but I can take more when I get back in a week. The counterweight is like the 'A250, though the adjustment range is 1g to 1.5g as IIRC, the p-mount (T4P) spec says the cartridge should be 6.5g and VTF 1.25g.
