If someone needs professional help, go see a professional.
Which often translates these days to people who need to maintain a good revenue stream, to support a lifestyle to which they're accustomed ...

In the medical field, one thing that has stood out, for me, about "professionals", specialists, is that they have generally been useless - substantially more money paid for minimal or zero value, and, as a special bonus, a side serving of lots of attitude ... bedside manner was obviously not covered in their course work ... 🙂.

Regarding the meaning of your life; if you can, try to dedicate yourself to service of others. Find something that you can do, and enjoy, that primarily benefits others. This is one of the most emotionally and spiritually healthy things you can do. At the end of each day, regardless of how bad things get, a sense of being useful, helpful, of being "a good person" can be extremely powerful.
:up::up::up:

... probably the best "therapy" there is to break out of a vicious cycle of negative thinking ...

Yeah, anymore seems like Medical Field is just Big Business and that's it..That's Problem now days..money/money/dollar this that, no real connection feels like no one gives a damn, everyone for themselves etc...how about you live rough/grow up like how I did/a lot of my family, get accustomed to that and just don't give a **** anymore kinda, I don't know.. Still kinda like that with me off the Grid, I never had much/Guess I don't need much etc. Make do with surroundings and what I do have. I'm pretty Redneck man haha, Southern Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky/Tenn I have seen some **** man haha, These big towns/cities are still weird as **** to me haha, It makes me uncomfortable/paranoid as ****, I'm serious haha, I can't adjust to this **** man I swear haha

Mentioned Before Isolated/withdrawn/solitude was always there you know, was part of the surroundings/ molds you into that pretty much. So yeah of course its really damn weird/awkward for someone like myself. being in large congregated area's/lot's of People etc, it trips me out haha

Being in a hyped up world certainly doesn't help - I started in a real bush setting, spent the first 5 or so years of my life living in a caravan, on properties or farms of huge acreage, the real outback of Australia - play areas as far as you wanted to wander. So, the lots o' people thing has never done for me - always good to go for a drive into country that reminds me of that comfortable solitude that I enjoyed as a child, just feelin' the vibe and stillness of the wide open spaces.

Hint - read a book !
From...Yogananda, Krisnamurti

or...Castaneda!

Nice recommendations. If you like those, try "The Reluctant Shaman" by Kay Cordell Whitaker. Mind bending. Love the Castaneda books. "Autobiography of a Yogi" is awesome. "Be Here Now" by Baba Dam Ras is pretty great. Don't know that I've read Krisnamurti. I'll check it out!
Of course, Florinda Donner-Grau and Taisha Abelar books are not to be missed. Wow, I hope others have more recommendations in this vein.

Yeah, Floyd and all.

But if we get into Floyd its definitely gotta get into "The Wall" I can relate to so much of that destruction.

Avoid The Wall. It'll drive you deeper. Believe me.

Try Obscured by Clouds. "Mudmen" can take you to a really good place, dude. It is one of Gilmour's masterpieces.

Seriously, avoid The Wall.

Avoid any of the overly-depressing Roger Waters "woe is me" crap. Seriously. I spent a lot of time with Roger over the years and it made things worse, not better.

You'd be better off listening to that crazy post-Floyd Sid Barrett stuff.

"I've got a bike you can ride it if you like its got a basket a bell that rings and things that make it look good
I'd give it to you if I could but I borrowed it.

I know a mouse and he hasn't got a house I don't know why I call him Gerald
He's getting rather old but he's a good mouse.

etc."

Much better than...

"... there were Arabs with knives at the foot of the bed! Right at the foot of the bed!"

(Although Clapton's guitar certainly is sweet enough to bring tears to my eyes on Pros and Cons)

Already listened to a lot of The wall numerous times/more than I can remember, I know exactly what it is/about. Destruction of the Mind I know..
That made laugh the Roger water's "Woe is Me" haha, No, you know what I'm talking about whole album is so much pretty much like Syd's decline/destruction...

I did a 6 month stretch many years ago listening to nothing but "Comfortably Numb"

Holy crap! I hope you won a car for that, or at least a nice rice cooker or something.

-- Jim

P. S. The closest I've ever come to that was listening to Juliana Hatfield's Only Everything exclusively for two or three straight weeks when it came out. Love that album.

"A heart that hurts is a heart that works."

Wait, one more, can't help it, I love this chick:

"What a life.
You wear it like propriety.
You do it like you really mean it.
I watch it like a scary movie."

Crank it up.
