Was interested on these Kypton-C to, also wait patiently on the HEC mosfet(Toshiba) version.
I know nobody tested yet the IRFP type .............. so look like must wait.
Greetings
It is in the incubator, there is a long gestation process, but I think it will be the best of the best, Christmas present. That is why I put the red nosed reindeer on the first post.

I don't know what HEC is. Can you point me to a schematic?
Yeah .. what the heck is hec ? 😀
"Hawksford error correction" .. a local feedback loop on the output stage.
I have second thoughts on (cordell's) HEC. After playing with class A stages , "that" HEC ,
and E. Stuart's non-switching OPS/EC , the non-switching has the most to
offer.
At single digit PPM THD , the "dirty" Class B is the only "sour milk" left.
HEC tries to linearize the OPS ... but it still switches. HEC did a great
job of making the IRFP FET's behave like BJT's - that's all ...
So , I would recommend the non-switching OPS (with BJT's 😛).
It is the better "behaved" of the 2 (local feedback) OPS's.
Also , it has error correction , too.
PS-The kypton V with this OPS has NO measurable H2/3 -like a perfect
200W class A amp (tested the kypton's with a class A stage, as well ).
All low single digit PPM THD.
Edit - this is the "jewel" I speak of - http://home.tiscali.nl/data.odyssey/AB2-EC-V4.html

Looks like our Canadian friends might beat me to the IPS's (they should share).
I really want to develop the above OPS. I do have the 2 Kypton's started ..
but time is limited these days. 🙁

Ok,we can wait.....a little.😉
If it is for sharing please post these in pdf or jpg format.🙂I almost have a Kypton-C layout done but it's double sided. I'm going to send out for etching.
OS is there not enough Soldering smoke rising from the Still4given Mansion, you are straining the limits of his capacity already, now you are talking about 200Watt class A's and MORE.
BUT please pick one that you could possible bless us with, Dadod and you are true wizards at keeping the magic smoke from escaping and making the speakers sing.

So not for sharing?
I'll post some PDFs once it's finished but nothing until it's tested so I don't have people building scrap.

I will pick 2 ...
The "kypton V" -
Lowest THD of all my 100's of forum simulations... attributed to it's cancellation
of both even and odd harmonics.
I am now (assembling) and testing ALL the non-switching OPS's - both on this forum and "out in the wild" (WWW). I want the best simplicity to performance
ratio (easy to build).
Let others do the CFA's 🙄 , the "V" + an "AB2" will be the best
on the forum - even putting most of the "slewmaster" offerings to
shame. 😛

Is this going to be all on one board or modular?

Vaporware?
Well, I hope once kypton V or watever version is finalized, tested & verified, DIYA store will consider selling it as Honeybadger's big daddy. We'll get more pple building it that way.

I would consider giving DIYA a "big daddy". I have the "goods" , DIYA uses a
standardized heatsink/OPS. It could easily be updated to be both modular
and be a EF3/HEC.
I'm scared to release the V , I want what will be good for me , as well.

I have NO amps 🙁 .

I've seen you state this before. Are you saying you would like some help getting an amp together? I could help with some boards, even some parts like transistors. PM me and let me know.
Blessings, Terry
We have a French proverb: "Les cordonniers sont les plus mal chaussés."I have NO amps 🙁 .

You should organize a group buy and make yourself a few well deserved dollars. Or better yet release a prebuilt module, then pop onto Lazy Cats thread and tell everyone his amp sucks and yours is better. At least you can prove it.

I like the totaly different design approaches of both of them. You should organize a group buy and make yourself a few well deserved dollars. Or better yet release a prebuilt module, then pop onto Lazy Cats thread and tell everyone his amp sucks and yours is better. At least you can prove it.
One work with "simple is beautiful", "Optimization on the bench", "by listening decision" approach. Nelson Pass or Hiraga family.
The other with an extensive and 'simulated measurements based' exploration of all the possibles.
I found you comment unfair.
I believe LC has made his group buy only to answer members requests, after he proposed his schematics for free. And i doubt, with the quality and prices involved in VSSA and FO modules that he makes a lot of profit. And, for sure, it is a LOT of work from his side.
I don't think he is promoting anything when he asked questions about the utility of so many designs without listening ( to make decisions) about the OS work. I think it is just his way to consider design process, and that he is right on this point.
On my side, i consider that both the curiosity and open mind of OS and the very accurate care of LC. about the real sonic results are necessary in this hifi "make believe" game of realistic sound reproduction.
Both of them had demonstrated the very good level of their technical competencies.
The success of LC. as well as the unanimous lauditive reports from his 'clients' is a real proof of the quality of his designs. And measurements are in accordance.
As well i'm sure than some of the OS design will give very good results, that we will know when enough of his babies will be build and compared in real world..

It's pretty obvious he's promoting something. I approach any design with an open mind. I think OS is doing a wonderful thing here. I find it annoying and really rude when someone pops into the thread and tells OS he should stop doing what he obviously enjoys because the their design can't be improved on.
