I'm curious how distortion levels appear at low power levels. Does anyone ever simulate at one watt? I still need to figure out how to use LTSpice for more than scematics. Never enough time!
Iron transfer layout?
I'll try to make the layout universal (comp. + feedback).... and real close to what a factory board should be.
ALL red leds on these ones - NO noisy blue/white ones ! 😀

OS,
So am I following this correctly and these latest Kypton versions are to supersede any of the earlier CFA-X and Gonad versions of CFA input section? This is your current SOTA pair of vfa and cfa input section?

At 1 watt , below the noise floor on the "C" , it has those dang caps.
The "V" ,I can jumper the DC blocker .... 2W is below.
It is 100 PPB (billion) with full even and odd cancellation.
(lowest FFT I've seen).
It just "ATE" the "blameless" (lameless) .. 😀
PS - The 1 watt behavior and how the amp's response changes at
100W is a IMPORTANT factor in it's final design !
Oh ... The "C" is about the same as the "V" - performance has "merged"
(except in slew rate).

The last ones were quite hard to beat. These took longer.
These ones mainly will endure overload better , run at lower
currents , are even more stable ... etc. PPM THD is lowest I've
achieved to date. Both will run PPB (billions) into a class A OPS.
PS - just to get a few PPM.
Edit - but I DID beat them .... 1/2 ppm 1W THD20K - best even/odd cancellation (below).

All these schematics and simm results from this thread are meaningless unless made in reality and compare between each other in competent system listening tests. There are very noticeable differences if only one small detail differs, input interconnect wire, etc. Instead positively accepted remark avalanche of criticism appears, normal reactions as expected. Believe what you want, my advice, rather be opened minded not just blindly accept what simm throw to a screen. And please don't ask Terry to make listening tests. 😀

Why not crawl back into your Vendor forum where you belong. You have no intention of helping anyone but yourself.

I think that's the idea here. Look for a design that seems interesting and then build it.
Wrong, you learnt nothing here. Even if they showed the same digit ppm they sound very differently. Try in reality and then serve BS, as this acronym is usually in your vocabulary.(below 1) - I ran the cat's original FB scheme. I still get 8ppm and the same
basic performance.
The single digit performance is due to the VAS/mirrors (80+db CLG)
, not bloody "secret sauce" (go to Mcdonald's for that)!

Before you can make something a reality you have to first work out the primary idea, no? Send me a module to do a listening test with on my Visaton mid- and high range titanium domes, I'll send it back after it. I'll give you my honest opinion 😉All these schematics and simm results from this thread are meaningless unless made in reality and compare between each other in competent system listening tests. I think the lower wattage measurements might be more meaningful for me with very efficient/sensitive speakers. Most amps seem to loose high frequency artifacts at lower output levels. I wonder if higher slew rates might help? Higher voltage supplies really help.At 1 watt , below the noise floor on the "C" , it has those dang caps.

This has nothing to do with my modules, my reaction goes to the ones who claims that all these amps sounds the same, especially if they simmed similar ppm THD, which is complete untruth.

Sorry Terry, my intention is quite opposite, I try to spread the word that amps sounds differently if only minor part of schematic is changed. 😉

Maybe they do sound the same in some situations. Speaker design and room acoustics play a huge roll in sound. In car audio systems we use to make $15 junk speakers sound amazing just by positioning them properly.
There are many things that change the sound of an amp yes. Even something silly like a different low frequency rolloff can make one amp sound better than the other.
Now we are discussing simulation vs. the "real world".
I said , Thimios will print these right out and listen to them on
a REAL EF3 output stage.
SOON !
I KNOW the real thing will at least be close to the simulator. I helped
thimios perfect all the other (IPS's) with the assistance of the
simulator. Real world closely follows the simulator with good models.
PS - I want the "V" to plug into a 24V regulated rail class A headphone output stage. I have some
new sennhieser's !!! I must make one of these "accessories".

Some "sling" the "BS" for $$. Some will let others decide.

Which model headphone do you have? I have a pair of 650's and like them a lot
If you will post the layout I will build and listen to them on a real EF3 as well. 😀
I have no doubt they will sound great. So far, every IPS I have tried has sounded lovely through the Slewmaster OPS even the most recent which was the front end of an APEX AX-11.
To Lazy Cat,
Have you built and listened to ANY of the Slewmaster combinations? I have built and listened to all of them. I would be THE person to ask how they sound. AFAIAC you have earned your title.

The range is awesome. Got them for 65$.
