Where are these boards being built?
I get 2-3 day turn PCB around from a US based fab, but the per board price is likely much higher than what you are getting.

They came from a company in China that i have been very pleased with. They got the boards to New York in 2 days. I paid for Express shipping. US based companies were double and many of them just turn around and farm it out overseas. I would love to do business here, but in truth, this is not a manufacturer issue. PO employee did say that the customs dept in New York had been slow fro some time. I dont know whether it is weather related or not.
I spole with the usps onFriday. They can tell me nothing other than the packagfe is stuck in customs. There is only one way to reach them and that is through a telephone call. The USPS will offer no help in this regard. I have tried calling twice and no luck. Will continue to pursue. All parts are bagged and ready. Just waiting on the boards. when they do arrive, I will populate a stereo set and confirm operation and then all will be sent. I am sorry. Tried to make sure all this was fluid. My luck.
DHS is studying the PCB to decide if it is a component for a roadside bomb. 😱 It might take them years.

The Post Office often advises callers to contact CBP, however we do not track packages into or out of our facilities, and unless you have a detention notice from CBP with a number to refer to when you call, we will not be able to locate your package even if it is being held by CBP.
If the post office has a tracking number that indicates the package went into CBP, but no record of it exiting the facility, you might ask USPS's customer service representatives to work directly with the CBP facility to see if it is still there - although the absence of a record is not proof that the package is still in the CBP area. Packages exit the CBP facilities on a conveyor belt and the post office's electronic scanners do not always catch the bar codes on packages as they exit the facility.

Take it up with your Government Representative! He/She should provoke some action if willing to involve.

Yup, but wait fo rme to test it first. Ilquam has basically done this already, so i want to confer with him.
I have contacted the PO one last time. If I cant get it resolved this week, I will have to order another group. I hate government and no matter what anyone says, you cant show me evidence that anything they touch or are involved in works better than it would in the hands of private citizens like UPS or FedEx, for instance. Who, btw, can tell me what damn street my package is on.
Tracking as well as personal employees say that it went into customs and never came out. Postal employees tell me that they know nothing more than I. Beautiful efficiency.

I have contacted the US Customs Department and was notified that due to the large amount of illegal and counterfeit items that arrive from various countries more inspections are being performed which can hinder the timeliness of mail pieces being processed and given to the US Postal Service for delivery. The US Postal Service has no control over the timeliness or processing by the US Customs Department, nor are we able to control if the item is ever handed over to the US Postal Service. Depending on the contents of the mail piece, the US Customs Department determines based on their regulations if the item is able to be legally accepted into this country."
I really dont know what to do. I don't want to lay out hundreds of dollars more to have this shipment released, or even worse, have the next one held up as well. Did i mention I hat government run business.
