This would allow people to adjust to their specific need and only increase the cost by a few bucks.

the "standard" gain is 19db, I'd need resistors for something around 8-10db.

Buzz, if using bl grade devices, the 4 should be matched right. Or is ok to use two matched pairs as long as the total idss matches?

When paralleling devices, it is better to haev them matched within the channel so that they share current evenly, otherwise one fet will hog current
