Studio 350 construction pics
Hi
Just a few pics of my studio 350 power amp through the construction stage
This photo above shows my power control module that contains the mains fuses / delay board for the transformer and mains filter etc.
I will upload some more when complete, the mains section works ok, will complete the protection board today
regards (Jamesfeline)

Thanks Sakis - yes, I agree with you on the Marantz. All 4 of the amps I have now built really show Marantz up as 'mid-fi'. I comment on that in the write up on the nx-Amp on my website.
One of my amplifiers. I think the look really nice and sound wonderful. Must admit, I haven't build them myself. If someone recognizes the topology please tell😀
Do you have a schematic and how many watts is the amp to produce. Is it juts to power transistors? I like the dark look of the amp.

I love the chassis design - simple and elegant.
With access to the right tools, even I should be able to build one... 😀

Well.... I see a tube and a pair of mosfets.

Very nice 😎
I'm proud to present my very first amp which is totaly of my own hand, offcourse with the help of a lot of people on this forum!
The enclosure is made of:
- back and front: Wengé wood (front 28mm, back 18mm)
- side panels: 4 heatsinks from hifi2000, 200*165*40mm
- topside: 6mm glass
- bottom: 8mm HPL plate
- input connector: neutrik RCA (only thing I found to mount on a 18mm thick plate.
- output connectors: rhodium plate, very heavy connectors.
The amp consists of:
- soft start
- 650VA/2x35V amplimo toroidal
- 2 sets of Power supply: each with 4 HFA25PB60 rectifiers and 40000µF capacitance.
- 2 ampflifiers boards: 2SA872/2SC1775 as diff amp, 2SC1845/2SA992 as VAS, 2SK216/2SJ79 as drivers, 3pairs matched 2SK1530/2SJ201 as OPS
- 2 DC servo's and with start up DC-offset compensation (DC-servo is made very slowly with purpose)
- 1 output protection made with TA7317 chip
I started with the design in oktober 2011:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/solid-state/198209-amp-design-subwoofer-wideband-duty.html
Sound: I don't have many experience with other amps. I have a Denon PMA700 amp which can't beat this amp. The first boards/circuit I made was worse sounding than the Denon amp. With the current circuit, the amp has a lot more detail and imaging than the Denon.

Hi
New to diy saying hello.
Smoked the amp last week so removed the 3250b too and replaced with yamaha ca1000. And swapped the tuner with Kenwood 8300. Running b&w dm3000s for now.
Putting together something using yamaha mx2000 maybe the rest all digital. Looking at pre's and dac's while have plenty about that needs repair to stay busy.
