Can two side cars be run in series? I'd like the option to switch DSD and I2S? I thought I'd seen the answer in the BIII thread but I could not find it.
Thanks

No, what you would want there is a TTL MUX at the PCM/DSD side of the sidecar.
That's one of the things we have on the list to get done soon.
Hi Russ and Brain ,
How is the small board with 4-position rotary switch connect to the Buffalo's I/O expansion header with a four wire connector ?
Any connection diagram ?
😕

Hello folks
If I want to use dual BIII´s and single Legato 3, do I need the inverting "L to R bridges" described by Rosendorfer in the dual BII, single Legato thread?

Russ,
Can you give me the dimensions of the planned TTL MUX board. I want to leave enough room for it in the case I am putting together.
Thanks

It's not that far along, but it should not be any larger than one of our 2"x3.3" modules.
Hi - I'm building my first buffalo - a 32S - I can't find this anywhere -- can someone tell me what size and kind of wire to use from the TPA PSUs to the main board ... and from the main board to the RCA/BNC outputs - Sorry for the newbie question -THANK YOU, Kind Regards, dean
Don't sweat the wire very much. Any good 18-22G hookup wire will work just fine. Do try to use sensible colors for each rail etc. Makes it easier to track things.
Thank You ! - I really appreciate the help !!! - If this is as good as I have hoped .... I will probably buy the Buffalo III too - - - I love tubes - I'm thinking of a tube output on the III anyone heard one put together that way?
Hi Brian and Russ,
I got some issue with BIII , can't lock well or can't lock when i use normal CD player as transport ,if swap to DVD player as Transport ,can lock well.

DPLL...
You might try adjusting the DPLL bandwidth settings. But I would be tempted to just use the source which provides the best lock-this is probably an indication that the output of your CDP has more jitter than your DVDP, and a lower jitter input to the B-III will result in better sound.

Enclosure
I am getting ready to put everthing together on my Buffalo III. I was wondering if there is a down side to making a wooden enclosure for it? And if there is could you please explain the reason?
Thanks,
Mark

It depends on how noisy your environment is in regard to EMI.
I have most of my stuff in wooden enclosures with no issues, but you will get better shielding from EMI if you use a metal enclosure and properly ground it.
Cheers!
Russ
Thanks Russ,
How does EMI present itself? In other words what are the chances of having it? And what will it do to the sound of the peice of equipment?
