as mentioned, i feel pretty sure if the miracle of a refund proffered happened, we would know about it here. the other Jokener GB is looking really bad i still have not recieved the case, nor the refund promised when i finally heard from him in the thread 4 days ago, others are starting to pop their heads up and mention theyve been waiting for ages too some from the last round and others more recently as well as other people promised refunds. this could turn into a complete and utter nightmare. ive never seen such dodginess on here. it may be a little while before we begin to see the extent of it.
@hochopeper - since you seem to be all over what BF owes, could you post how much BF owes in refunds and if they haven't left his bank or PayPal account (and I'll be asking for proof when I see him Saturday) I'll pick up the cash and sort it out. I will post later today what he owes me for postage less what I have sold in extra components/kits etc. I think that this may be the only course of action to get a resolution.

Im away from home until sunday (gone bush for a few days, plans only slightly foiled by crazy amount of rain we've had in SEQ, may get stuck on an island in gold coast hinterland though, wouldn't that be a shame) so only have what info is on my phone. Change of plan, BF didn't have the money so I'm seeing him next week to get the remainder of the components and the cash. Evidently a few people already have their refund. He's going to give me a list of who and what he has paid and I will do the rest of the refunds. Failure to meet the next deadline will result in me taking over everyone's debt and commencing small claims action.
Did he tell you this before or after you went for a drive to see him? The amount of running around you're doing for him is crazy!!

This guy (BF) should be ban for life. What an unresposible person, passing his bug to someone else and run away.
he wouldnt have even passed it if not approached. from reports he seems to be still holding quite a lot of the parts for the group buys for the laser pointer forums. he would much rather run away and hide than face up to the difficult situations he seems to repeatedly land himself in because he spends some of the money that he has calculated as 'spare' before the buy comes to its conclusion and does not account for there being little bits here and there that might need to be paid. well actually it doesnt appear as if he calculates anything at all as a whole; never seems to keep records
I'm almost certain he spent more than the spare money in this case. It is impossible to implement but a group buy organiser really should have some sort of liquidity/cashflow means test, lesson learned now though. My personal test is now that I won't GB with anyone other than a long term established forum member. Its not bullet-proof but will save me from the joker and BF.
If anyone in this GB put more than a few cents per hour value on their time they'd have been far better off paying the postage cost for a single set of parts from Mouser rather than chasing BF for months. Even now we would all have NOTHING if it wasn't for DDW!

I almost joint the jokener GB until saw this one here. Anyway jokener first GB was very successful, who will know his 2nd GB ended up worst than this. All credit to DDW and people that help up here to make it work, else we might not even have our kits in 2012 Xmas.

yeah well i was being kind, of course he did. i have had no reason to suspect anyone else ever before this O2 project and the new members that decided they would do the GB's. it should not be allowed for someone to hold a GB as a brand new member. thats pretty easy to implement.

Additional items sold (income to me not including tips several people were kind enough to send, sorry for not publicly acknowledging earlier) $263.23
Items I have that are yet to be sold $39.69
Total outstanding owed by BF to the GB $ 546.98
What will happen now is I will get $546.95 in cash from BF and I will then contact people via PM for bank details (those with an Australian bank account) or PayPal details for those overseas and refund the money.
This will close then close the GB.

That is in line with what I worked out, if BF kept track of any numbers then he should be able to correct us on this if needed. He's been silent since these values were posted though so I have taken that as a sign of tacit agreement.
I personally think your contribution to this GB has been too much already! It really isn't your responsibility to be wearing the cost of any remaining unsold parts.
The thing is these are remaining parts that I have possession of and getting them back to BF would cost more in time and effort. I'm happy to write it off given all the time spent and with the kindness of people paying a bit extra (one person significantly more) I'm close enough to being even.
I got a text from him last night - he should be transferring the money today and posting the 2 remaining kits today. I'll believe it when i see it.
What I find disappointing is BF conduct once things started to go astray. The offers of help once I took over have been appreciated. As someone posted its bought out the best and worst in a group buy.
