hmm, low current caps maybe ?
when looked at supply caps I found that even Panasonic had many types with low current specs
and even some of the relatively big ones

you need some these sweet things
only 6800uf and not so big
but high current caps
they can take it
hey, with this kind of caps, factory boxes are not very big, and a lot cheaper
6800µF for 4700µF written on package? Sure they are fake! 😉
. . . I'm afraid I don't trust any of the china/HK ones on there for parts.
Maybe Thailand?
I believe that you can trust Chinsan Elite PS, 105c rated aluminum electrolytic from Bangkok Thailand, designed by a formerly Nichicon engineer. I wouldn't hesitate to use Chinsan's product for sensitive signal area, such as an nfb cap, input cap, tuners, etc. . . And, indeed that nfb cap example is a real life application in my own favorite amplifiers. When used for power, there's been nothing other than very nice results.
Some of my testing has been abusive, and there's been no failures at all.
In this case, the availability difficulty is solved by avoiding E-bay and then buying direct with a DHL ship-collect account.

just me getting old I guess 😱 😛
Thank you , tinitus. But, no thanks 😀 Only the best from now on :
Only the panasonics and Nichicon's (except 2000 - 2005 ones - 1 million bad nichicons/dell computers). I have seen 20- year old nichicons in power supplies still read good on the ESR. I just want to avoid the issue below in the link. 😀

Years ago I had to check capacitors from a bunch of NEW OLD STOCK capacitor.
Here is a circuit that will work
Choose a transformer with a voltage of 70% of capacitor rated voltage and power the circuit for a few days.
Then measure voltage acros every resistor and calculate leakeage current.
Pick the one with the lower reading.

Nichicon FW is another durable option. They like (exactly like) the ES series have a high resolution and a predictable hf failure mode (smaller parallel caps may be an important addition). This is similar to the Panasonic.
So, its possible that you might need to:
470uF // 0.47uF electro // 0.0047uF ceramic
or
470uF // 22uF electro // 0.47uF electro //0.0047uF ceramic
or
470uF // 1uF electro // 10nF polyester
These are possible examples.
. . . to relocate the unintentional corner frequency (or peak) of the large cap's hf failure mode, up, up ,up to a much higher pitch.
High quality signal grade caps can be very noticeable when they're at work (a good thing) and likewise very noticeable when larger models taper off rapidly at higher frequencies (not great), and so this may need a little patch.
Its possibly worth the effort.

Sorry , I had the university of red commie land port scanning and downloading everything , so I banned 116.xxx.xxx.xxx and 117.xxx ... the whole IP range , Google's range is also banned... 66.xxx all of it, for disobeying robots.txt. 🙁
All other ranges are now open. (except those above) 😀

My 212.xxx.xxx.xxx IP address also appears to be banned

hey, I'm sure Nichicon are the best, for preamps 😛
btw, theres a reliable source for cheap Panasonic caps 😉
who ?
ehh, 'famous' US member selling lots of NOS stuff, especially cheap sub woofers

Mouser , which I have a account with , sells both the panasonic's and Nichicon's. The panasonics are the more "elite" of the electro's usually costing twice as much. Between 50-100V and 1 - 470uF = $.20 - $2.30USD , half as much for the Nichicons.
My choice , derated to 68v for 100V parts... is: UVR2A471MHD Nichicon Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors - Leaded
With that much derating , I'll get my 20 years. Mouser usually ships the same night (even at 2AM ) , I'll have my parts in 48 hours. I use the panasonics for Vbe / DC blocking , CDE silver mica for cdom/compensation , and wima for input/ decoupling.
OS
In the Nichicon Muse series, they're even cheaper at $1.09 UFW2A471MHD Nichicon Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors - Leaded
I would suggest to purchase the one Panasonic example and both Nichicon examples, and try all three possibilities. Electrolytic caps vary so much that you'd expect one option to obviously beat the other two. I don't know which.

With 4 pairs of 470uF's in the HV supply , my ESR would be better than any single cap (pana EF/EE @ 12m ohm). Any long life cap will suffice , no voodoo here .. none will sound better. The CRC PS and the cap multipliers will determine PSRR , the design will be more of a factor than the component (short of a "junk" part -fake).
For the main input / input filter , the miller , and NFB DC blocking cap - low ESR and age/temperature stability is the relevant factor to consider.
PS , I do like the "muse's" 🙂 ... only 25mm high (16mm dia. + 7.5mm LS - they will fit perfect / low profile as well).

Don't know if you changed anything but it's all ok now. Thanks - very useful website 🙂
I find it terribly curious that Mouser reordered 3 times the average volume of these:
Nichicon HE 470uF 100v capacitors at Mouser
Its somewhat of a mystery.

10.000 hours !!
If you derate those caps at half voltage (or 60V)/ 27C ambient , you would get 200,000 hrs. of life (20 years +). Those are real good caps , hence the great demand .
I just bought the Muse's on mouser , should be here in 48-72 hours (texas to tenn. - fast)

glad I'm not completely senile yet
Apex Jr, can be found in Vendor's
Apex's Samwha 100V caps are awesome ... charged them up to 60 V , 48 hours later 59.8V. I read about samwha , good company. Apex's samwha's are HL/HY , super long life ... glad I bought a dozen. They do have the 4 pin snap-in profile ... had to make a new template in sprint PCB.

Mouser, and Fedex are quite good, I usually get my order in 3-4working days. From USA to Europe...
