What do you think?
>I think I'll skip the big A for AM and use AM PM as normal size
this will look better i think 🙂
I am very near sighted, so this was my reasoning for all big digits, although normal size might look better. = Make it a setup option in the code 😀>I think I'll skip the big A for AM and use AM PM as normal size

Why not a 24h clock?
Arne K
No particular reason really. It is like I was taught in imperial measuring system in the beginning, so I still think in imperial measurements even though I know metric is the better of the two. Yet another software setup/display option!!Why not a 24h clock?

Hi guys. A simple yet bugging question. I'm trying to get inputs switched using a rotary encoder.
now I've searched the Bascom help page regarding encoders. However the explanation there is a bit unclear.
From what I understand, I need two pins, set as inputs and with activated pull-up resistors. That's easy to code. However Içan't figure out the encoders code.
Is there a simple example on how to implement an encoder into the code?

Venci

It seems the easiest way is to use this "special" encoder that does not have the A and B channels. However it would be nice to have a part number or some sort of datasheet.
From what I understand it just sets its outputs low for short period of time upon "clicking".
Thanks for the reference.

Well I think I found the "special" encoder:
SRBM Series - Basic information
It's not an encoder at all. Just a clever endless rotary switch. However those seem to be quite expensive 🙄

Very simple to use such encoder as yours .
Your encoder is equivalent to 2 switch buttons one for up and one for down .
Hi all, can i connect PGA2310 on PC port and the Display on PB port to Atmega8515?

Tibi,
I have an problem with the remote, everything works fine
I use led light in our home sometimes the remote goes automatically
up without push the buttons of the remote
It seems that the led light in my home gives an reaction on the remote censor
is there a way to blok this
Thx

all circuit work but Remote is not working you are says (Atmega IR remote transmitter that is 100% compatible with any project) so please say it is possible to match this circuit please answer me and send you (Atmega IR remote transmitter that is 100% compatible with any project HEX AND CIRCUIT ) my email ID is :- amendhi2@gmail.com
I have waiting you reply

Have been using a stock vicol r2r controller for over 3 years and i am really happy, one of the best things that i have introduced to my system.
Now its time to update my firmware as i am running one of the 1st versions. I got myself a usbtiny and have been reading through the instructions and this thread. First question, should usbtiny give power to the vicol board or not? Other than the 6pin header in the vicol side do i have to connect anything else or place a jumper anywhere in the vicol side before starting the process?
cheers

Either way give power or not are OK as long as you do not have 2 power source both powered on.
But I suggest to set usbtiny to not power the board and to power R2r controller from his usual power source (you know there is a jumper for that on usbtiny).
For anything else fell free to ask.
Look in the romanian forum : Forumul Electronistilor the organized links to schematics and firmware version.hello.
I'm new on this forum.sunt interested in this project since Logitech Z5500 controller has failed. want to reuse Z5500 with atmel and 2x20 display.
I would like to tell me which version is suitable for display hex 2x20. and PCB layout. I want to use the control with TDA 7318. View attachment 420065

Anyway for that schematic there are some version of firmware ( but with switch button and not with encoder as in Logitech ) i have attached here tda_7328_ctrl_v13
Also there is a schematic and a firmware with atmega8 micro if you search there.

Did the update, everything went very smooth. Great firmware version, many thanks danzup, excellent stuff
