I got it to work 🙂. But in general how does make sense to configure the system? I would say that the dac should play dsd as dsd and pcm as part. Is there any benefit to play pcm in DoP ?

I'm sorry confused the question, my answer was DSD related, never heard PCM in DoP because DoP is PCM packed DSD.
I mange to play anything now, DSD64, DSD128 and DSD256. The only strange thing is that when I play the DSD256 files from 2L (The only one I have) the buffalo detects PCM 176KHz instead.
Not really a big issue as there are not really content available and I am not sure where is come from. It could be that JRiver is doing something. I am curious if you have something similar.

Davide

Attached are the settings. Reading on the bottom of the windows you can see what actually happens when playing DSD64 and DSD256. I guess Jriver converts DSD256 to PCM 176 on the fly, for some reason.
For the rest, everything if pretty cool !!!

How is configured the WaveIO?
I don't know if the latest drivers supplied by Lucian includes the Thesycon for DSD256 & DSD512.

Well the computer does not have visibility on what DAC I use. If it would output DSD256 and the DAC would not support it, I would just get no sound. In this case, it actually works, but JRiver takes the initiative to convert it to PCM.
It's just a curiosity, as I don't get to use it.

Is possible your Mac doesn't have enough power processor and JRiver downsamples or there is something wrong in the Buffalo side: could you check the SW1 & SW2 switches?
