Are you for real? When I look at overpriced anything (especially shoes) I only see them for how many sweep tubes I could purchase. Those shoes are a lot of sweep tubes! 😱
I would say that the technical pursuits came first.
And my audio interest is in reproduction accurately.
I am especially interested in reproducing vocals.
I said I didn't pay list. I couldn't afford them full price but luckily Charles Church is a neighbor of my fathers. What is so wrong about liking something traditional and hand made by craftsmen. It supports the traditional business of my home town, they are comfortable and one pair is over 20 years old. when the need resoling you send them back and they go back on the last they were first made with. So yes, men can like nice expensive shoes.
Everyone is allowed at least one extravagance. 🙂

There is nothing wrong with that at all. I just value everything in sweep tubes instead of actual currency. It's a sickness.
I am a firm believer in "You get what you pay for". Quality anything is worth the price. Of course with anything you do reach a point of diminished returns, but that would be much higher than $400 for shoes I would think. In that case those sorts of things are only meant to divide classes, a status symbol.
I bet those shoes are very comfortable indeed. I only have one pair of dress shoes because they get used only when people die or get married. I tend to buy skateboard shoes because they are designed to be abused, seeing how I don't skateboard they last forever.
It's only a sickness if you live on cold porridge so you can buy more tubes and you sleep on the floor because the bed is buried under tubes.
There was a man in Oregon who used to be like that with records. I think he ended up with 250,000 or so in his house.
