Wow, interesting choice of words, especially correlating women=distaff=center spindle=turntable=audiophile. Was that intentional? You must be good at scrabble.
... and you didn't investigate? Why are there so few men who knit?

now we'll never know 🙁

no - there was nothing more crafty intended than a short alliteration, and I haven't been near a Scrabble board in at least 30yrs

I have. I noticed that I lack the dexterity, patience, creativity and time to do such an activity. On top of that, I have little use for the final product.... and you didn't investigate?![]()
Hmmm... I think we might be getting somewhere.
Hmmm
Cal, how about me knitting you a sweater for Xmas ?
(Which, if I may say so myself, will look absolutely lovely on you. You hunk, you)

It's a rare thing indeed. My wife is into audio. not to the extreme that I am though. But she goes to meets with me from time to time. She brings her Oppo PM3's and norne audio zoetic cable. She had a custom one made that was a bit of "bling" to it. And I have to say, those oppo PM3's are quite fashionable. 🙂
She is quite capable of working on electronics too... and she knits. 🙂
I love it when i'm working on soldering a pcb with some components and walks up behind me and watches me quietly for a moment. Then says... "can I help you with that?" lol. I get a bit self conscious as I think she is judging my soldering skills. 🙂
Anyhow, I love her because she has a nerdy side.
but we are nowhere near as nerdy as most people on this forum. So i'm a noob compared to most of you guys. But i'm here to learn and get some guidance on our first dac building diy project. 🙂

I was thinking more along the lines of a classic Yves Saint Laurent houndstooth motif in B&W, but with mooseheads instead.
Maybe sleeveless, just think how those bulging upperarms of Cal in a clean ironed white shirt will contrast with the softness of a wool sweater, divine.
(of course, cats are always a winner)

"those particular mental images that burn forever in your minds eye"
For those who don't know, while I was in the library studying hard for my PHD thesis in gynaecology, guys like Jacco and Chris were busy biting the heads off doves and tearing down chicken coops with their bare hands.
Personally, I think I'd look marvellous in that houndstooth print.
Wait, what was this thread about?

Here's something to think about, ever considered the perspective the rare woman audiophile might have of us? It's even somewhat humorous, and was written by that rarest of creatures a woman audiophile.

Scenario 1. You buy your wife a car. She sees: 1 thing you've done well.
Scenario 2. You get your wife flowers, then take her out to dinner and a show, then on to a hotel for a child free night. You arrange her breakfast in bed. She sees: 4 things.
Mine sees my system as one thing, while I see it as a web of countless options.
