I saw photos of THF-51S and they are fully flat on a flat side.
I also saw a few photos of THF-51T where there are circle on a flat side.
Maybe they was manufactured in diferent plants?

One question for the experts here, when using the THF-51S or 2SK182ES devices,and taking into account the likely power dissipation of any designs - how does one securely attach the device to the heat sink - obviously using an insulating washer and insulating bushes for the 2 mounting screws so that the screws are electrically insulated from the case (drain connection) when screwed into the heat sink. Then how does one get the electrical drain connection form the case wired to the amp circuit.

I don't see how the mounting screw which is connected to the heat sink but isolated from the case by insulation bushes, can then also be the electrical connection.

What is the correct way to use these can I ask? Maybe I am missing the obvious.

Drain wire on electrical ring connector, ring connector between insulating bushing and mounting flange of SIT.

i think you'd see more of these except most ppl dont need a 50w amp. They want these SITs used to some ultimate level, DAC ready, the small parts are already there, but no group buy for 2 stage sony/tokin l'amp. Great, lets build preamps for SIT3 copycat followers, after everyone said vfet is only good in common source.

What does Watanabe mean?

So about like Jones in the US, Johnson in Texas, López in Mexico, Bouchard in Quebec ...... They may all be related.... 1,000 years back.

I think, I will ask him.
Of course, in Japan and China there could be many secret places, catacombs, caverns, mazes, tombs, which are can be full of forgotten SITs.

Sit was invented in 1950,
first commercial all SIT's amplifier produced by Yamaha in 1970,
then ~ 50 years later, many hundreds of DIY amplifier kits was designed and distributed by Mr. Pass | DiyAudio Forum Team.
Now another future revival with Tokin transistors.
