Which Nelson design has most transparent HF?

You want a bachelor pad... I got you a bachelor pad... ( The El Pipos are a bit too bachelor looking, if they had a vermillion crushed velour finish, then, yeah, they'd belong below..).

BTW, I love those reddish-brown carpets. Check out that '74 Sansui in there... Cerwin Vega.. and yeah, the horns need a paint job, but they get in because they are simply so over the top. A bachelor pad must be something that makes your wife scream and run away... to leave you alone.

ZM-

Yes, some women won't run out screaming... I mean from the living room, not the house.... just make sure you have some taste when you decorate the living room audio salon... I find that ceramic cats tend to mass load the speakers, deepen the soundstage and add a certain aura to the strings.

IMHO, get them a 77 OLED TV in the den and they'll leave you alone.

BTW, do not have a coffee table in the living room.... it does great for soundstage... and... - this is how you sell it - when you have parties, you can set up a card table in there and play games. We had a black jack setup in there while I was playing some 70s music in there for New Year's Eve. Zeppelin, Zappa, Journey, Elton John, Foreigner...

One clever Woman taught her Hubbie that everything is allowed in loving room , no matter what size and whatever, as long no sudden changes, and no periods of non-functionality ...........

And, I was lucky enough to be taught about Rule, so be in position to practice the same in my Boss living room

Some other clever women wrangle ownership of the den, which is larger and has a large kitchen attached to it.

While her man only got the smaller living room... but I have the fireplace. ;-)

We do have a formal dining room in between, keeping the peace.

Except for one little error done by Man.... he forgot... and the design when house got built allows sound to carry from den to living room and back...

Enter Man's home office... With two doors down by a short hallway. ;-)

Thank God for having dual Iron Pre....

was late night, and I see now how one typo made completely different meaning  ........... and that different one is also more than right per se

of course I meant lIving room writing that

so ........... mentioned Clever Woman is none other than dear Jill :

I can only say that my wife Jill has put up with a lot of audio craziness for 47 years, the Kleinhorns being the most extreme example.

ZM will testify as to the stellar qualities of She Who Must Be Obeyed...

Well, we simply has to decide for our self what ”transparent highs” really means.

And if we want just THAT?

And. Do you really always wanna hear how disastriously, horrificly bad a lot of the older recording sounds, and was recorded and mixed? With ridicously weak bass and treble, and with a low res screaming midrange.

Is the sound of treble in actual live reality cold and hard, soft and warm, or smooth, or nice, or aggressive, or sissling like a happy frying pan?

How does a accoustic guitar really sound?
Yes, as honest as possible. It because the amplifier is for reproduction system, not for production system to make music.

So "transparent at high frequency" mean the distortion at high frequency very low at level below clipping. Amplifier is not the problem for DIY, but speaker and the room are the main problem.

Im either being fooled thinking the Couvoisier is a Pass design I missed or its schematics are nowhere to be found😂

If not please tell me where I can find the schematic. If so, I really enjoy Suntory The Chita or Nikka from the barrel.

It comes in 375 mL and 750 mL. Clear -transparent- bottle. All good cognacs come in clear bottles, the better to display the craftsmanship of the product within.

Perhaps Gianluca (and PL) should offer an amp case with a clear -transparent- front so we can admire the internal work...

Although I prefer Bas Armagnac. But that's for the Senior Ladies Man... once you realize that sometimes a good cigar is a better proposition.

I am not ZM, but will readily testify that Jill has earned her sainthood.

As I understand it, the Klienhorns left because Nelson loves to play with new stuff all the time, and that was one design he wanted to try. Their time was up, they were donated to someone else with very tall ceilings could enjoy them. At one time Art Dudley asked me about getting them until I explained their dimensions. Nelson put 5” Lowthers in them, which I laughed at. Yet they produced some of the best bass I have heard. Lotsa fun.
