My on going project is Fostex FE206E in a backloaded horn cabinet.
I'm also going to build a SE 6AS7G amp to drive the horns.

Just a classic p3a with a couple of bookshelfs, I needed some hifi in my room and it makes a nice change from making 600w 4ft PA cabs.
Next summer/autumn Ill strike out for a 5.1 system, havent truely decided anything about this yet. For instance I dont know if I even want it to support dolby digital or not yet.
And then I have all my other fun uni stuff, which is mostly developing c++ for a real time differential GPS interface with a pair of Ashtech G12 GPS recievers, with a buncha other modules.
All good fun

1. Redoing my p3a yet again with newer/more ONSemi output devices and other misc updates.
2. Reworking my 3 way speaker xo and TM section baffle (will be slanted)
3. Need to start on aleph 2 cases, since boards are all populated now.

I am building a sealed sub for my Denon home theatre receiver. I will be using two drivers and a Linkwitz equaliser.
Building a set of array panels, each using 60- 4 inch drivers and 96- 3/4 inch dome tweeters. (not making sawdust yet)
100 foot custom snake for powering and connecting dual cd system to on stage amp rack.
Oh yah...almost forgot..
Dual IA amp setup for measurement analysis.
Line cord-ground loop measurement setup.
Speaker wire skin effect test setup with VERY low inductance loads (4 ohms, 40 watts, <10 nanohenries)
Cheers..John
PS..Happy new year everyone

Come on David. That monolith has been there for nearly 3 years now, hasn't it?Da5id4Vz said:Still trying to toss that bone over the monolith that appeared in my backyard.
I'm on my way to a quartet of 50W Aleph-X amps for my active two-channel setup. Machined some case parts and heatsinks last Sunday, should be up and going by mid-February I should think.

None very interesting. First photo is the power supply and one channel's heat sink. I was rigging it up for a thermal test. Then there's a bunch more heatsinks that I just cut this weekend on the miter saw.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

I am breadboarding different variations of jlh1969. I intend to run a bjt version, a version using small signal mosfet as driver, a complementory version. I already got a mosfet version completed.

Since you asked.......
Low noise clocks.
Improved SPDIF TX and RX circuits.
What did you expect an RF engineer to work on?
