The same happens in audio forums; some people simply don't like others.
And others like them.
What can we do to please everyone, even the people who don't like us?
Is there a way to live all together in peace?
It is the same thing with movies, with actors/actresses, the same thing. 🙂
♦ I re-watched 'The Book Thief', on Blu-ray, in 2D. ...Luv it.

William (Star Trek) is Canadian, I believe.
Scarlett is American, I believe. ...I have yet to see 'Lucy'.
Orson (welles) is Ukrainian, I believe not. 😉 ... 'The Third Man'

Once I was dilapidated for simply saying that I hated a certain album (music).
One member was so offended that he complained to the administrator, then I was banned for life.
Stuff like that happens all the time, and everywhere; it's life.
Here @ diyaudio, I've never seen this kind of attitude; everyone respect other people's opinions and taste. ...Even William Shatner. ...Bill? 😉

Question: When I made a spelling error, it used to be highlighted by a red line under.
Now it's gone! ...How do I restore it?

Orson was born in Wisconsin, and both his parents in Illinois - or were you just being silly?
Shatner, well to some of us wet-coasters, Quebec is almost a separate country - at least they'd like to think so 😱
I have no issues with the man - a bit too self-involved for my taste, but certainly can't be disparaged for that, and definitely more active at 83 than many of us several decades his junior. I just find his acting skills rather limited.
Scarlett - mmm - better stop before I embarrass myself

Yes, I was, kidding. ...That's why I said "I believe not." ...And used one of those ... 😉 ...'Bout Orson Welles.
Quebec is part of Canada, just like Texas and Florida and Alaska and Hawaii are part of the United states of America.
William Shatner is great @ his age, and he's a funny guy, always was.
I like him for who he is, as a person, but not as an actor.
And Scarlett I like her in many flicks: 'The Horse Whisperer', 'Ghost World', 'A Love Song for Bobby Long', 'The Avengers', 'Under the Skin', ...

well, speak to any Quebecois- as I frequently need to when reconciling with a certain nationwide distributor of hardware to the commercial millwork trade, and when you can understand them, you might detect a certain ennui, detachment, I dunno, je ne sais quoi that might lead to a different conclusion on their sense of Confederation - mais, cela pourrait juste etre moi 😀
not a movie, but I just finished a thoroughly good book - you remember books? 😉 - Jon Meacham's biography / love fest on T Jefferson - "The Art of Power"
Regardless of one's politics or view of any particular country's idiocentrism - and whom amongst us is immune to that? - it was a joy to read the beauty of the "King's" English parsed so eloquently - well, I suspect that some of the era might recoil at the thought of any such thing accredited to the authorship of a monarch
but I do digress, and prattle on profusely - apologies

I am a French Quebecois (pure 100%), and I'm certainly not a separatist, I ain't no independentist, ain't nobody special. ...I'm Canadian.

Yeah, I know about books; I got few of those too. [book=😛

Chris, we are only talking, about movies, about stuff we watch on the tube.
...And all that jazz.

mes excuses, mon cher ami - nous allons revenir à notre sujet régulier.
Ayant françaises continentales seulement étudié à l'école secondaire, d'autres excuses pour les éventuelles distorsions idiomatiques
yes, that's a robot translation - it was almost 50yrs ago
not all Quebecois are of the same mind on the subject as yourself
don't actually get out to "the cinema" much these days, for reasons I've mentioned elsewhere

I was sort of like kind of in the mood for some' unrealistically real and surreal apparition @ the same time; revisited (it has been quite a while).
It's a cool flick with a nice bunch of young actors in a kind of drama/humor situation while acting onscreen with the material given to them.
... "I love you. -/- I love you too."

The young generation is mainly lost. ...And the old hardcore separatists are the ones who are truly lost.
The remaining population, the vast majority (intelligent, mature, educated people) they just don't want to have anything to do with a bunch of minority losers separatists. ...They are normal Canadians with a real head on their shoulders.
I don't care if people think like me or not, I just care about people who truly care about others; humans with the right values.
Ok, that's it for this. 🙂
Ton Francais est tres bon mon ami, bravo!
Me neither; I don't go to public Cinema Theaters anymore; extremely rarely.
We live in a world where we don't need to go out anymore and talk to others like humans. We can all do this now like human robots on our smartphones and iPads (iPhones). ...We do text messaging and we post on Twitter and Facebook and on public forums of the Internet highway; World Wide Web (WWW).

Just watched a pretty good documentary about four guys studying to become a Master Sommelier called "Somm". Good journey following four seriously dedicated guys working on joining an elite club (less than 200 in the world) of masters of an art and craft. If you're at all interested in wine, you should watch this.
Speaking of such things, I still find it remarkable how Australia can produce such value for money product, like this, https://www.danmurphys.com.au/produ...7C9E036F1D9B2428.ncdlmorasp1306?bmUID=kBnDHAG.
This was a BTW gift, just enjoyed most of the contents - would blow any French red under $100 out of the water, 😉 ...

fas42 - depending on your location, and government markups, etc, the price of a delightful affordable little red can vary by almost criminal amounts. We have a decent "big box" format retailer hereabouts ( Everything Wine - Victoria, BC) where I make it a contest to find something suitable for company for under $15 CAD.
About a month ago, we took a short little trip across the strait to Olympic Peninsula, and in the Port Angeles Safeway grocery store, found several fantastic Australian, Argentinian and Californian reds - Malbecs, Shiraz. Cab-Savs, even some decent blends, all for slightly more than half the price at home. Even with currency exchange eroding some of that advantage, it was hard to avoid grabbing half a dozen or so. What was certainly not hard to do was consume same in the 3 nights of our trip.

Argentinien reds; I love them. ...And the ones I'm happy with they are all around $12-15 a bottle.
I don't know; I drank wines from all over the world...France, Canada (B.C.), Spain, Italy, Chile, USA (California), Australia, Russia, Iceland, Alaska, Hawaii, ... and Argentina I simply love many of their wines (red).
Anyway...

yup something about the Mendoza & Maipo regions different sides of the same mountain range - we have top thank our son for introducing us to those after a wander-about trip of his through South America few years back
he didn't share all the stories of his time in Rio with his mum

Did he make a video? ...Can we watch? 🙂
wouldn't be surprised, but they'd have only been shared with his contemporaries - besides, I'm definitely a degenerate, but that'd be altogether too creepy to watch, all together
