What are you Watching?

I think home 3D is going to be very worthwhile with 4K screens and high frame rates.

In the meantime, I don't miss it and I certainly wouldn't want to use coloured glasses.

Yes, big time! ...And without the 3D glasses! ...Active or passive. ...Eventually.

Also, you can put a Blu-ray movie in your BD player and some people can watch it in 3D while other viewer(s) enjoy watching it in 2D. ...At the same time!

That's going to cost us*, and revolutionize the way we look at things. ...And without glasses. ...And forget it about those curved TVs!

* Cost us --- cosmos 😉

Plus, later on this year; Dolby Atmos @ home! ...Jesus Christ, future looks bright. :djinn: :trapper: :Pawprint: :deer:

Bob - if the future's so bright, we'll all need to wear shades,

and sunscreen
I had a T-shirt with Opus wearing shades and that quote ("My futures so bright etc. etc.") on it. I won't say which decade except to say that it was in the 20th century.

Just saw "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes". Well crafted story with some great characters and scenes. Andy Serkis' acting as Caesar is amazing.

And without wearing shades. 😎 ...It's an obscure flick, I really liked it (you might, or you might not; we're all different).
And I like Scarlett Johansson, of curse.

* As for Dolby Atmos we are getting closer and closer by the minute, and it sounds very promising so far. I don't know if you guys are following the latest on that waterfront but I do. I'll be jumping in eventually, by adding four Dolby Atmos speakers to my 7.2-channel arsenal. I'm all about envelopment; with sex, with music, with movies, and with drugs and alcohol. Rock'n'Roll Man! 😀

And do watch that flick if you have a chance; then share your impression, if you have one. 😉 ...Like I said, it's an obscure film, and the best way to explore it is to not read about it and simply view it. ... 'Under the Skin' - Brand new flick on Blu-ray.

And in the end I think I've learned the final lesson from my travels in time; and I've even gone one step further than my father did: The truth is I now don't travel back at all, not even for the day, I just try to live every day as if I've deliberately come back to this one day, to enjoy it, as if it was the full final day of my extraordinary, ordinary life.

...Bullets zigzagging all around, explosions surrounding me all over, mortars flying over my head, grenades whistling under water (by soldiers being shot dead before they can launch them at their murderers), tanks rolling on top of my couch, blood spilling all over my plasma tv, and all that sh!t happening war in any zone of the planet @ any given time.

Very very early this morning, on a dark black sky with a half baked moon on the horizon, sprinkled with white stars above my head, I revisited this ::

* I'm a huge David Lynch's fan, and this flick I like very very much. ...Everything!
-> If you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?
...The atmosphere, the music score, ... :cubist: :hypno2: :female: :bullseye: :female: :treasure: :darkside: 🤐 :blackcat:

Indeed, Mulholland Drive is a great movie, wonderfully twiste story and great acting.

I recently realized that I had never seen "Scanners" so watched it. Much more mainstream than "Videodrome"(which is a mind trip and I think would never be made today), it's still a good yarn. It seems really derivative now, but that's only because everybody has derived from it.

Come to think of it, David Cronenberg has been a great film maker for decades now. I haven't seen his most recent work, but "A History of Violence" was great (better than the original graphic novel IMO) and "Eastern Promises" was as good a thriller as I've ever seen. BTW, Naomi Watts from Mulholland Drive is terrific in both.
