I still don't know what was really going on in Jacksons head!

Gordon.

He took his soul back from the devil, and the devil retaliated appropriately. If you want to know what happened, it is easy enough to find out.

I should say, however, that if you are a firm believer that Building 7 "just fell down on its own" then don't bother digging into Michael's demise. You already know "the truth".

I would only suggest reading the "7 facts" with a critical mind rather than the zeal of a conspiracy buff.

I'm not easily swayed by conspiracy theories, though one thing from 9/11 that sticks in my mind was the suggestion that it would have been technically impossible for the cellphone conversations from the highjacked planes to have been connected in such a fast moving vehicle ( and presumably shielded by what would have been in effect, a Faraday shield formed by the planes' bodies. )

Aside from this, rational explanations for the events of that day, more or less add up, though it's not something I've looked into in a lot of detail.

Gordon.

Tubelab's recolllection may be a little rusty. It would be odd for fans to clamour for a song not yet released.

The song was written by Kris Kristofferson in 1968 or 69. Janis performed the song live starting in 1969 at many if not most of her live concerts, including Woodstock in 69. She had recorded the track for her album, which did not release until after her death. The free concert I was during my senior year of high school, which was 1969 - 1970.

Granted my memories from that era are a bit fuzzy, but a class mate's brother was one of the security team that had to rouse her from her trailer before the show, where she was passed out with a bottle of Southern Comfort nearby.

...Jimi Hendrix' stuff at Woodstock was legendary! 😎

To me, Hendrix's set is poignant in many ways. He closed the show to an audience of "only" twenty thousand or so, since most of the huge crowd had wandered off towards home by then; so he was mostly playing to a sea of garbage out there. And I remember a lot of grownups complaining at the time how disrespectful was his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, but that was absolutely not the case! When you watch him play it in the movie, his sincerity is undeniable. I think he articulated the glory (and the irony) of our anthem in a way that probably no one else ever will. And of course, to listen to that iconic performance now, knowing that the guy was only going to be with us for another year at that point, is still kind of heartbreaking for this old fan.

On a lighter note: I was only twelve and living in the Midwest when Woodstock happened, so didn't get to go. But I was definitely a freak-in-waiting by then, heh. As soon as the soundtrack LP dropped, two of my little hippie friends & I grabbed some paper-route money, hopped on our Stingray bikes, and rode like hell across 2 cities to the record store. The round trip took several hours, but we got all the way back home in time to listen to the Fish Cheer on the Zenith console in the living room, nice & LOUD, before Mom got home from work! 😎 😎 😎

I still watch the movie every August. Wish I could've been there.

I do remember Southern Comfort.

30-some years ago, my Facebook timeline would've looked something like: Beer, wine, hospital, Southern Comfort, police station, detox, rehab.

Just thinking aloud, the evolution from the general slang of "reefer" and "muggles" to the regional pride of "Panama Red" and "Oaxacan" to the contemporary "Northern Lights," "Purple Diesel" or simply "dro."
And how hashish is still MIA in all the recent publicity.

as seen in 2 states and one province
hashish originates from Arab states, might be political or historical push back
the stoners aren't smoking these days, they use vaporizers so its the same deal. I reckon fresh is best. "use by date" codes coming

not in the young chick dept.

All that talk about electric vehicles and melting ice caps made me contemplate to smoke seaweed.
yeah that can be a bummer to talk about all the time, makes me want to escape to some other kind of entertainment! lets see there's 'Mad Max' at the cinemaplex and 'The Walking Dead' on TV🙄
