I can't believe the complaints about the taste of magic mushrooms...they were a gourmet delight compared to peyote cactus buds which worked really well if you could get through the agony of eating them, hypothetically!
Could U please shut up and just give me some of any (only thing do not ever think U could came near me whit same Eroin or such and walk off on your own)
After all it has been 2 years since I had a drag from my kid UNI mates

My all-time favourite is salvia divinorum. No, I am not joking. Many people dislike it and only try it once, but I think it is great. It is like packing an acid trip into 6 minutes, with a beautiful, calm afterglow that can last for days. Oral tincture is much milder, but very strange indeed because the 2 worlds mix in very bizarre ways. At least when it is smoked, you are simply ripped from one world and plopped into another, like lucid dreaming, but much better.
Getting back to weed... and music; yes, music can certainly be very enjoyable after partaking. I don't know if it is "more" enjoyable, but it sure is different in a very enjoyable way.

Early 70s hardware was mostly Kenwood, Panasonic, Sony, Marantz, Pioneer, Teak, Gerard, etc sold in the duty free store in Naples Italy. I was in the NAVY, and whenever we were overseas we would make one R&R flight to a duty free location and buy our stereo equipment, photographic equipment, etc.
I still have my Kenwood KL-5050 speakers, but that is all that remains from my system back then.
Later half of the 70s I was in college and gravitated to Klipsch, Nakamichi, Crown and occasional homebrew amps.
Some of the early equipment sounded just as good as anything as long as we were in the right frame of mind.

LOL... what a coincidence. 🙂
I blew a pair of these in Uni, while my friends and I enjoyed the music a little too loud on mushrooms.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
With an SPL rating of 102dB (!) it didn't take much amplification to get them going. The matching 100 wpc Kenwood receiver could only be taken to about "3" before things got painful. I'm pretty sure someone just wrapped it to "10" that night, to make everyone laugh.

I have been in a mild state of altered awareness all day from the remembrances. Very nice state of mind. Jim the Oldbie, what other musical treasures do you have? If you are an Emerson, Lake and Palmer guy, check out "Encores, Legends and Paradox", a modern remake of ELP by Dream Theater and friends. Good fun.

Hey, I still have a mostly intact pair of those, sans crossover. Someday I'll do something with em.

I'd love to find a pair at a garage sale and bring them back to life. Use them as my "garage speakers" and re-live the old days when the wife and kids aren't around to smell my bad behaviour. 🙂
I blame my (mild but annoying) tinnitus on that pair of speakers. 😱
Salvia's some scary ****. Not enjoyable.
I was a pretty seasoned psychonaut when I was introduced to the green lady. She took me for an absolutely amazing and hilarious ride and I learned a lot about myself. I decided that it was easily worth the 6 minutes of my life. I have done it many times since and I have yet to be "scared" by it.
Some people love roller-coasters, some people hate them. Salvia is like a psychedelic roller-coaster that skips through dimensions in such a real way that I can see why some are disturbed by it. For others, it's just really *******' cool. 🙂
Which reminds me... it's got to be at least 8 years since I've had a visit with the green lady.

I wasn't really complaining about the taste of the mushrooms, just a fungal aftertaste in something like Kool Aid or tea or hot chocolate for that matter.
If you use the mushroom water to make a cup of powdered mushroom soup it actually improves the original taste of the soup.
Salvia is just too real. You lose your senses and plunge through the floor into the unknown. I'm just not comfortable with that. It's going to take you to the most intensely strange place whether you are willing or if it means dragging you through a hellish dysphoric disorientating nightmare.
I used to have a salvia plant though. Never smoked that plant!

Shrooms taste bloody awful though. If you have them dry it's like chewing on a pine flavoured polystyrene cup and having them wet isn't great either. Best semi moist on some pizza or pasta.
When I smoke weed, I always end up listening endlessly to the toilet flushing.
Which actually sounds quite interesting really, once you get the hang of it.
With good pot, I tend to get too horny to be able to properly focus on sound.
Music with a joint after a good shag is nice, but it seriously limits the range I want to listen to then.
After a night out, ganja with sound is tops, but with me (and the type of musical venues I attend) that means 6am at the earliest.
Best combo to focus on the music is beer and coke, but there's the risk of turning nasty violent.
Poppers with sound is fabulous, but overdo it and I end up with a constant high frequency buzz in my head that lasts for hours on end (and a splitting headache the day after)
XTC & poppers is really cool with the right kind of music, but it's been a while, have my age to consider nowadays.

Provide the ingredients and I will be happy to do the cooking
What about nice Shrum risotto or Salvia and goat cheese ravioli.

Yeah, symphony of the drops
I remember... something like jazzy D'n'B
😉
You have to chew salvia to get it's effects orally, tastes bad man.
I think cooking shrooms destroys the psilocybin.

You can also make an oral tincture. It is a bit of a process, but after extraction and reduction, one can reconstitute it in a tincture comprised of high proof alcohol. I chose Bacardi 151 for this purpose as it was all that was available.
It burns quite a lot when holding it in one's mouth for 15 minutes, but the taste was not bad it it benefits one's oral hygiene. 🙂
