Back to the original topic now! 😀

Anyone listen to "warriors on the edge of time" by Hawkwind, stoned,? It is an awesome experience, the first time that I experienced this combination, I actually felt as though I was literally sitting on the very edge of time!

In general I think a lot of their stuff ( Hawkwind ) isn't up to much, but that album, in particular track1 parts I + II and track 3 is incredible even though the musicianship isn't the best, when you are whacked that doesn't matter anyway, well in my case anyway, albeit within reason.

Ozric Tentacles, almost certainly influenced by Hawkwind do the psychedelic rock thing 10 times better. I seen them live once, possibly twice in fact, it was around 1995 so I'm not entirely sure. What I do recall is that there were quiet a few fatties ( no reference to the overweight 😉 )being passed around the audience.

I have quite a bit of Hawkwind, don't listen to it much. I'll see if I have that one. I've listened to quite a lot of Ozric. More Hillage than Hawkwind, to me. Hillage even plays with them as a guest, I think. I like how they named their band. They had a contest to come up with the best name for a breakfast cereal. "Ozric Tentacles" won.

Neither Hawkwind nor Ozric:

As I conveniently disregard your clarification, I get a great image of huge bearded prog-fan-type dudes blissfully crowd-surfing, oblivious to the sheer panic on the faces of those underneath as they strain to hold them up... Wish I could draw better, that would make a good cartoon. 🙂

EDIT: But wait! In lieu of pictures, here's a pretty funny story. My favorite quote: "We weren't surfing him, we just wanted to not die."

Ozric and System 7 use to appear at Megadog and Herbal Teaparty nights, lots of fun involving day glo paint, music, dance and .....

This is a good quote, as well:
“And does my cat airplane quickly blue to guitar canals?”

I saw the Residents right after somebody stole their eyeball. One of them wore a skull, instead. Damn shame.

Was that on their 1st tour which they called '13th Anniversary Tour'?

I'seen them on that tour in Berlin and one of them was wearing a skull.
One of the best gigs I've been to and it featured Snakefinger on guitar who sadly died only months later aged 38. A heart attack on the day his single called 'There Is No Justice In Life' was released.
