Jagaza, Thanks for the guidance.
Face,
Thanks for the links. A 2-way using the Denovo BA-750 over hybrid (rebuilt) JBL 2226 using 2235 parts and a longer voice coil. Heavy diy 😉

Will the horn be a mid in a three way or HF unit in a two way?
Tweeter only. This is a midrange horn:
Horns
If we summarize all experiences and ideal would be Altec 416 coax in a midrange horn (200Hz) with full rollback (sphere) that forms bass reflex box tuned to 30-35Hz plus EOS waveguide inside 😉 speaker radiates from ground aka "Flooder"...
Gentelman - please collect throat angles for favorite 1.4" and 2" drivers - I would like to start SEOS-20 or SEOS-24 prototype next week.

I must say DE500 with 12B100R is a nice combo - very, clean precise sound, tight bass, trully recommended.

Jzagaja; Would you recommend a horn for the DE500?
I've been looking at your Iwata 600 a couple of times as they provide relatively short height (vertical) at a relatively low recommended x-over frequency. And I want to build a compact two-way floor-standing system.
So for instance your recommended Beyma element @ 90L + DE500 and Iwata 600?
I would probably experiment with an active x-over setup, unless someone recommends a good passive diy-design that works.
Regards 🙂
I recommend SEOS or OS with a below crossover:

I want to say that Geddes measured an included angle of 13 degrees for the DE250. I wonder how accurate that list is.
Got sachet of Aquaplas.
How is that evenly applied on the surface of a diaphragm?
Is 6degrees the half angle?I didn't measure 13 degrees. I worked for B&C and 6 degrees was on the drawings.
Gentlemen,
One may produce a "plug gauge" with polar graph paper and stick it into the throat to check fit. I have done this. I believe the included throat angle of the DE250 is very close to 14 degrees.
From this I made a wooden taper. I attached fine sandpaper to the taper to remove the mold marks from within the throat. The same served very well in smoothing the transition from driver to horn.
Better to get the mating surfaces lined up than to quibble over degrees. One degree difference will give you just about 1 foot in a hundred. 🙄

theory and practice, not always the same thing
I just wonder what the exit angle is at the end of a phase plug like this one
theoretically probably completely wrong
sounds ok tho

It was 6 or 6.5° (I don't remember the decimal places) - half angle.
