No AFAIK the PCB was changed to be able to use 120 V transformers. I think you have to find one in the US with the right pinout. Look for a EI38 (3,2 VA ) type with 7,5 V secondary winding.
this is the pinout:
http://www.jesiva.com/pdf_upload/EI38-14 3_0.pdf
@palmito: look at how I wired the transformer. I paralleled the input and output to support a transformer like this:
AVB3.2/2/9 - BLOCK - TRAFO, 3.2VA 2X 9V | Farnell Deutschland
having 2 x 115VAC as input and 2 x 9VAC as output. If you know an American transformer brand with EI38 core (have a look at Jean-Paul's PDF)
and 115VAC input and 7-8 VAC output rated at about 400-500 mA, I will remove the dual / paralleled tracks.

Thanks Rudi/JP, I will check when I get home tonight and post anything I find.

You are welcome, Gig.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

Gentlemen, I have subscribed to an occasional holiday-offer (?- do you understand, is this good English?) and will not be available
from end of July to middle of August.
To make this group-buy a success nevertheless, I have ordered 20 PCBs of each (VCPre_PCB, Auxiliary_PCB) and components already today!
I hope to recieve them until middle of July and send them to you ASAP ( before I start my vacations).

@Palmito: I have spent some time searching the INTERNET for a Small_Print_Transformer that will make you happy. I have not been sucessfull.
I have therefeore decided to remove the paralleled-tracks on the VCPre-Layout. I feel a little bit sorry upon having taken this decision.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

P.S. I will continue this group-buy (2nd-round) for everyone who will sign_in later (profiting from the appreciation of the 1st - round - buyers).

.
I could not find one either, but had not given up yet. It's perfectly ok, I will keep the trasnformer off board. Please keep my order as it is now in the spreadsheet, no transformer.

And thanks again for this group buy!

This is all I could find. It's .3A if you parallel the secondaries and is 230 or 115v primary.... Just not enough juice I think.

3FD-316 Tamura | Mouser

We use those in our DAC power supply and it is good. Silent and a low stray field. If this will be used on the PCB only a wire bridge is necessary for 230 V use and none for 115 V use if one orders the 115 V version. See our DAC PSU and BOM for type numbers etc. We used it to make our DAC PSU versatile and suitable for use in all countries.

It needs larger pads/holes than standard EI38 transformers though !!! It has wider pins. I would be surprised if it does not have enough juice to power the VCPre.

@Palmito: Maybe it is best for you to wait for the 2nd round of this group-buy. I will start it when I am back from holidays,
in the 2nd week of August.
I have just drawn a "package" (this is the EAGLE term of the representation of the foot-print of a device) of BillyK's and Jean-Paul's
recommended TAMURA transformer (I appreciate your recommendations, gentlemen).

The TAMURA transformer will fit on the PCB (see attached image), and I will (perhaps) make it the standard transformer in the 2nd round.
I will once more check the power dissipation, but - from a first view - I think that it will be sufficient.

@Wirehead.be:

Could you post payment details on this page? I think it's the least we can do for the quick service you've been giving us.

This is a good point!
I have already ordered 20 PCBs of each and 20x25€ worth of LDRs!
My PAYPAL - account has run out of money, and I would appreciate very much, if you transfer the money (as shown in column TOTAL).

My PAYPAL-Id is: RRozek@t-online.de
Please make sure that your EMail- and home-address, as you have left at PAYPAL, is correct.

Best regards - Rudi_Ratlos

Billy: you are the 1st one to pay. Thank you very much.

Best regards - Rudi

P.S. You need not be excited! Lean back and watch the stories' growth!

By the way: I have "outsourced" the job of matching the LDRs to "Mr. LDR" himself!
He has of course much more experience with LDRs than I have and will provide you with perfectly matched quads.

That's good news about the LDRs.
I am excited to be a part of this although I am not much important, just having fun.
You should have seen my face when I first read about it. I am currently in the process of putting together a unit that consists of almost everything your ONE board does! I have a LCDuino and Delta 2 board from Ti at AMB for control and switching along with alpha 20 buffers, an LDR board for attenuation, jean-paul and Subbu DAC with JG buffers, a nice phono pre, all with Salas BiB shunt regs. for power. I have been planning this for months and all of a sudden here we are!! Too cool.
This first VCP will be combined with a Fetzilla for what will be one heck of a nice integrated!! W00t!!
