Actually sounds very good , but my Shishido LCR is still better ;)
I had this Itch phono preamp in my main system for years but it was made PTP. Now I made it on pcb just for fun.

What tubes are you using?

The Shishido LCR schematic is like attached schematic?

there is something special in sound of LCR phono IMHO

Of course its another way of filter impedance, has to be different. Expensive as well if to get such from Japan. Shielding and accuracy not easy also.

Its a pity if using the big tube in the HV PSU as soft start only by the way. Try the shunt also when in the mood of building something. But SS HV PSU takes caution, especially when shunt it blows up far easier than various full tube HV PSU.

I need to do some assembly now.

Another nice one. In black looks good too.

By the way, who has reliable method to check his build's Riaa response* do test it for what is the best treble capacitor value C3 for the board style.
Because it should have different parasitic capacitance than the hardwired prototype. Maybe with different make second stage tubes and bases the parasitic pF can vary a bit also.

*(either accurate anti Riaa, preferably without "lost constant", or digital anti curve FR filter)
