So perhaps we could add the documentation and some references to useful information/posts onto your original post?

I've partly updated post 1. I couldn't attach anything, so I just referred to the relevant posts and Linear Audio files.
Ray, what links to BOMs and filter layout related things do you want me to add?

Looks like a good start Marcel, I'll sort out some content for you to add around ordering the parts.
BTW, I've been a bit concerned about Dan (snax) and managed to find his mobile number in an old mail so we've just had a chat. Thankfully he is well but has been stuck outside of the country - he's now at home and sorting some things out. He's not completed his build (and it's not on his priority list at the moment) but he's going to drop by soon.

Marcel I'm back working full-time this week and it's been pretty busy so I'll not have time to play or do anything for the first post content for a few days.

Has anyone looked into attaching a AK4137 board to this project?
(Something like AK4137 I2S/DSD Sample Rate Conversion Board Supports PCM/DSD Interconversion DOP | eBay).
Would that enable via an I2S converter to connect an external S/PDIF device?
Steve.

I am keeping an eye on this thread and even ordered a Beaglebone on Ebay.
Simple DSD SRC for BeagleBone
I'm keeping an eye on ppy's latest project too - looks interesting.
As you would expect there are some cheap Chinese AK4137 boards available on ebay - no idea of whether they're any good. I'm not reccomending them, especialy as I have no experience of them - just pointing them out as, perhaps, a cheap starter option for delivering DSD data to the DAC;

I'll provide info for Marcel to include on the first post about my reconstruction filter PCBs but here's a heads-up on the custom-wound inductors I designed the PCB to use;
Custom Inductor RM8 Core, 34,58 €
There are price breaks for quantities.
Also, remember that the PCB is for Lundahl LL1684 transformers.
I guess you might be able to use different inductors/transformer with the PCB with some bodging but I can't comment/help with that possibility. If you're not going to use the same inductors/transformers as I did you might want to think about an alternative approach to the output PCBs I'm offering as part of the GB?

A cheaper alternative could be to buy RM cores and to wind them manually. It's more fuss because you need to separately buy the cores, the clamps, the coil formers (bobbins) and the enamelled wire. The Digikey part number for the cores is either 495-76950-ND or 495-76953-1-ND and the manufacturer's (TDK's) part number either B65811J0250A048 or B65811F0250A048. The J model has no centre hole and the F version has a threaded sleeve.

I've been trying to track back but no success so far, what's the dimension of the board? Planning a rough draft for the chassis in advance. 🙂
The main board of the DSD-only version is 195.58 mm by 314.325 mm. I have just put this information in the starting post to make it easier to find back.

Ray, how is your friend who does the SMD soldering going to handle the 0 ohm resistors R48, R57, R58 and R59? Which of those need to be mounted depends on how you use the DAC. Just leave them off, as mounting is easier than removing them?
