To All,

The team behind this GB has decided that a small contribution to DIYA is more than justified for all the services provided to the community, remember that this GB could not exist without it so we thought it was a good time to do some contribution to this extraordinary (free) site that allow us to gather and do the work of our passion.

So here it is, and extra 0.20CAD will be added to the quoted price of each board. From this amount it was also agreed that Dennis will get 10 freebie Toolereg boards as recognition to the well deserved effort on managing this big group buy and the balance will be donated to DIYA which would be around 0.14$CAD or a bit more for each board delivered.

Let me spell this clearly for all to understand correctly, Dennis did not ask at any moment for a compensation for his voluntary work, it was entirely a decision of the rest of the group since managing this big group buy it’s a demanding task and time consuming work so we thought of doing as well a small recognition to him.

Cheers,
:deer: :santa2:

I'm referring to the flat charge per PCB.
If someone outside Canada orders 19PCBs to get good value from a 1kg package then that diyer has to pay 3.80CAD$ towards DIYaudio.
Whereas someone local with cheap postage will only pay 0.40CAD$ to DIYaudio for two PCBs. The foreign diyers get hit twice. High postage and high contribution.

Andrew,

No offence here, but we are talking of a few dollars here against the benefit of receiving a load of nice boards at a cost, I’m sure, you will not be able to match locally including the postage and the flat rate of the 0.20$CAD per board mostly for contribution to DIYA which makes all this possible.

I’m asking for 12 boards in total and I’ll have to pay the same amount for postage as you over there. Unfortunately we have to add the postage to the cost plus Paypal fee, envelopes, and whatever is needed to get the goodies to our front doors. Facts of life I would call them.

Cheers

Ok, I'm in a tiny minority.
1001PCBs @ 0.20CAD$ allows ~ 200CAD$ to pay for Dennis' boards and the DIYaudio contribution.

Since there are currently 121 Members showing interest, the same ~200CAD$ could be recovered by adding ~1.65CAD$ to each order.
There's a counter proposal that seems to me to be fair.

Andrews proposal sounds fair enough to me. I wouldnt mind doing it that way, and evening out the amount in that way, might seem a bit more fair. In any case 1,5USD is not a lot per user.

🙂

Hi All

I agree that a flat fee per order is levied and 100% of that fee is donated to DIYAudio forum.

This would be easier on those organising this group buy rather than working out a percentage on each different order.

Seeing that it is approaching Christmas, I would be happy to pay $2.00 USD as the donation on my order.

Cheers

It's easy for me either way...be it # of boards x $0.20 or
# of participants x some fixed per order amount.

The goal I think we can all agree to is to use this
opportunity to make a financial contribution to
diyaudio; my feeling is that exactly how we achieve
it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Just for fun, I looked up how much it will cost to
ship a pair of boards across town. It turns out
to be more than the US rate, and the rate
for across the country is even higher than the
international rate. The Canadian parcel rate
structure doesn't favour light weight packages
at all.

Cheers,
Dennis
