Hi Elam,
l=[ln(Am/Ah)]/k
k=(4*PI*Fl)/344
Am=[9470/(4*Fm^2)]/4 or if u place it in a corner ....../8
Ah= 60-70% of sd
Ax=Ah*e^(k*l)
Fm ~ fs
Fb=fs*SQUAREROOT[(Vas/Vb)+1]
Fb > Fl > Fm
hope I've got all now.
regards Till

Klangform said:Hi weidok,
The fe167E is not very suitable for horn designs like we do. A horn without comprimize is always big. The Replikon is actually the minimum size of a real horn. The Unikon and all other small horns with 3 or 4 inch drivers in comparism are always a compromize. But as far as we know there is a great request and interest for such miniature horns.
Greetings
Raffi
Thanks Raffi
So you suggest to build the FE 167 E in a Unikon horn..
Could you make some calculations for me please ...??
I find this a very good topic....
Raffi and Till!
Are you still out there??
I like very much your special kind of Backloadedhorn style and would like to ask for some infos how to build such a nice horn like yours.
My main question is : how to calculate the horn bend/curve geometry? How can I calculate, draw and bend a straight exponential horn contour into ca. 270 grade bend?

Hi Till!
Tausend Dank!!!!
It is absolutely clear and I can understand!
When will come up something new in your WEB site??
I mean about the FP163, Grande, Replikon horn bauplanen??

Hi Tyimo,
we are working on new plans and try to get our old plans on "paper" for the webside.
It only tankes longer than we thought. Hope we can update the side soon again.
Right now I am pretty bussy with my job in the automobile industry and I am still trieng to get me new apartment cleaned up since I moved to Stuttgart.
My next project will be a BL-horn for the FP203.

Good grief Till,
I already had thought those FP203s had vanished with some leftover packing cases. 🙄
We all are interested in a flourishing german automotive industry. But could it help if I politely ask Mr. Zetsche to set you on leave from work for a couple days? 😀
Rudolf
who doesn´t find enough time for his ongoing loudspeaker projects either.

Could you give me the real TS parameters of the SP-155X?

Rear Loaded Port
In my opinion this design sounds more in line with a rear loaded port type than a rear loaded speaker, since the rear chamber is large, the throat and horn may act more as a port.
Who knows, maybe it sounds good.
In my experimenting with rear loaded horns is that interations between the front and horn make it peaky.

Maximale Belastbarkeit 50WMAX
Nennbelastbarkeit (P) 25WRMS
Mittl. Schalldruck (1W/1m) 93dB
Magnetgewicht 13,3oz.
Einbauöffnung Ø 146mm
Einbautiefe 75mm
Abmessungen 155x155mm
Gewicht 1,25kg
for further informations visit: http://www.monacor.de and search for 10.1360 or SP-155X

Why do you consider them 'strange'? I mean that Mms, Cms, Eta are correct for the listed T/S specs assuming the Cms is actually 0.605 E-03 mm/N.
Anyway, FWIW here's what I have from a previous version of the Monacor website, which is considerably different:
Fs: 65 Hz
Qms: 2.6
Qes: 0.64
Qts: 0.51328
Rdc: 6.60 Ohm
Sd: 125.7 cm²
Vas: 21 l
calc'd:
Mms: 6.3841 g
Cms: 9.391-E04 mm/N
Eta: 91.4 dB/W/m

Hi GM!
Because I find an official data sheat with:
Nennimpedanz/Gleichstromwiderstand: 8/6,6 Ohm
Resonanzfrequenz: 65 Hz
Gütefaktoren(Qms/Qes/Qts): 2,6 / 0,64 / 0,51
Äquivalenzvolumen(Vas): 21 Liter
Effektive Membranfläche(Sd): 125 cm²
Antriebsfaktor(BL): 5,0 Tm
Schwingspulenüberhang(Xmax): 1,0 mm
This data are a bit far from the last posted:
Fs: 76,91 Hz
Qms: 2,982

Qts: 0,811
Rdc: 6,90 Ohm

Hi Till!
Thanks!
Is it possible to get some info about the Replikon? Horn lenght, Chamber volume, St, Sm ?
I would like to make a simulation with MJK's MathCad worksheats.
I made already sims with the SP-155X design, but the results was not so nice than yours with AJHorn. :-(

Hi,
Thats a long time I follow this magnificent thread, thanks Roemhild.
Could a Fostex FE207E be used in a Replikon horn ?
Kind regards.
Alain.

Hi Alain,
until now I haven't played with the Fe207e so that I don't know the optimal volume. I will try to simulate the driver in the Replikon and also try to simulate the driver in the horn for the FP203.
the plan for the Replikon:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65164
the plan for the FP203-horn:
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64984
The big difference betwenn these two drivers are that the Fe208sigma only needs something around 45 liters and the FP203 over 55 liters.
Raffi is also playing with the Fe206e in the Replikon and of course we will post our impressions.
have fun

Till,
Thanks so much for your time.
I hope to finish soon my Stereo 2*20 watts SE 6C33C-B
and be able to build one of these babies...
And yes I understand Qts about 0.4 and Fs 30 to 40 Hz
plus Vas about 35..40 liters... and it's difficult to find one similar to Fe208 Sigma...
best regards.
Alain.

Roemhild,
I did find one Driver "compatible" ...
Audio Nirvana '6.5'
SPL: 94 dB
Power: 30 watts
Re: 7.2 ohms
Magnet: 3.0 lbs
Voicecoil: 1.2 inch
Fs: 51 hz
Qms: 4.87
Qes: .37
Qts: .35
Vas: 39 liter
The Fs is a little high but it<s the only one with a Vas of 39 liter
and a Qts of .35 Plus the pair is $98/pr
Can be compared to the Fostex FE167E...
What do you think about the Audio Nirvana '6.5' ?
