Ultra Fast Diode Bridge.

If anyone is interested, this is a Fast Rectifier bridge I just finished that came from P-A. It's only good for about 8 Amps so it is not exactly high power.

8-10 A isn't very much no, but How much current do you have in your application?

:att'n: Only C or C+R not both. No the C is doing all the work but you can leave the caps soldered. They don't do any harm.

I have also a high current version in the tube. The pcb can take MUR3020 and similar types. It will be released in 2-3 months. I don't want to spoil this group purchase. The pcb's will look nice and will have 95 um copper.

Actually P-A it seemed to me to be a CRC filter is it not?

OK, it looks like the intrest in the boards is slowing down now, so I will be closing the orders on the 29th of Febuary (not often anyone will get to do that 🙂 ). So, if you want to put your name down for more boards you will have to do it before then.

After this, I will be asking people to make the payments for the boards and I can place the order soon after. If people wish to start making payments now though that will be fine too.

My prefered payment method will be paypal, but I could also accept bank trannsfers and personal cheques (must be in GBP, and drawn on a british bank).

I will hopefully get back soon with more deatails on postage etc, but feel free to get in touch if you have any questions before then.

NO, I guess I did not. I will be sure to read every last word before commenting on your product again.
Your not alone but in this case you have actually built it. 🙂 If the pcb has options it's not obvious how the parts should be mounted. A good example of this is my Gainclone which is hopeless to get working without reading. => Read instructions if there is any.

I have got rather many comments where the person in question hasn't understood a thing plus did not read the explanations yet he has had very strong opinions.

About the current rating: How much current MUST the diodes be able to handle? Is it more than 8 A continuous?

Hi, at the moment, the price per PCB stands at £4.00, as I will have to place an order for around 150 PCB's which isn't quite enough to offer any sort of discount (I have also noticed the the doller/pound exchnage ratio isn't favouring anyone on the other side of the pond at the minute with the pound almost worth two dollars).

However, in the event of more than an extra 40 boards being ordered in the next week the price would drop down to £3.50. So if some of the people who have larger orders think about this, it may make more sense for them to order a few more boards (sorry, I can't do this, I'm still a poor student and my bank account hates me at the moment) to push the order close to 200 boards so we get the price break. I do have one o two people who have said they would like a couple of boards if the price hits that amount (about an extra ten or so boards I think) so this may not be too hard to reach.

Feel free to e-mail me saying if you would take more boards if the price drops, aven if they are just to sell on once the group buy has finished.

Andrew.

Right, I have done some initial rough calculations on how much the boards should wiegh, and I think they should come in at around 20 grammes each (and the envelopes for posting will also be about 20g). So, if you want to see how much postage should eb to your destination, please check out the royal mail web page below to see which postal region (the drop down list at the top of the page will tell you which zone you are posting to) your country corresponds too, and how much the postage will be calculated from the number of boards you have ordered.

e.g.

8 boards to the USA (zone 1), weight = (8 x 20) +20 = 180g
Small package cost, £1.89

Royal Mail Postal Prices

I have also decided that as the numbers of people arodering here aren't too bad (no where near the aleph-x order size), it will be easiest if people could email me with their final board order size, postal address and preferend method of payment so that I can send back an accurate total and deatails for payment.

Hi, my paypal account is setup to work with my hotmail address, which is myusername@hotmail.com (but replace myusername with the my user name on these forums i.e. bigparsnip, you can also see my ebay feedback ratting here if that will be of any use to people??).

Also, I forgot to mention in tha above post that I would appreciate if an extra 2% could ba added to cover paypal charges and another 30p for the packing for the boards.

I have done business with DAU before, and they are tip-top. Do we want to do an order at these prices, or would you like me to ask for a sample we can compare against the Maplin product???

Cheers

Jon
