i agree that its quite a "conservative" system as far as the driver implementation is concerned.
it has more in common with the orion then newer designs like the Nao Note and LX521: but the frame itself is solid, and drivers high end, so im sure it sounds good with proper dsp.
i know some people find DEQX slightly veiled compared to other dsp solutions though... 😛

We made a special OB. With ultimate drivers. We use a Audiotechnology midwoofer and asked Mr. Skaaning to optimize the unit for OB. He did that and the result is amazing. We use an dipole AMT from Mundorf and de well know Seas woofers from Linkwitz.

With regard to measurements, to begin with, my impression is that this thread is a picture gallery of speakers, not of measurements. Just as with any commercially available speaker as a finished product, measurements are not available. Of course, if people are interested in getting this product from us, things can change and we will provide more information in private e-mail conversations.
I do not want to come off harsh, so I will give some information anyway. The low frequency roll-off is basically identical to the Linkwitz Orion and LX521, i.e. 2nd order wih the -6dB point at 20Hz. Our ASP is equipped with a level correction so that amplifiers of different origin can be used, e.g. a tube amplifier for the midhighs. There is an additional level correction that provides you with control of the amount of dipole bass correction, to adapt the speaker to your room. In the digital domain, between the digital source and the DAC, any reliable DSP product can be added to control room modes below 150Hz, if desired.
The midhighs measure essentially flat with good uniform dispersion. We have made a number of measurements in different rooms at the listening position and so far we always measure a flat respons with a smooth roll off at the higher frequencies. This 'proves' the well behaved dispersion. We are not at all a fan of DSP room correction for the midhighs, the speaker should have good dispersion that makes DSP irrelevant in this area of the frequency spectrum.
As you might know, when a speaker is well engineered, measurements only tell you that it is indeed well engineered. Measurements do not tell you how extremely well the sound of this Mundorf AMT tweeter and Audio Technology midwoofer integrate. We could not be more satisfied with the sound that we achieved, and both Hans and I are very critical listeners. I myself am very familiar with the real sound of piano and violin and other instruments as my family consists of professional musicians. Hans is a good singer and was of great help to achieve optimal behavior in reproducing vocals.

i'm sure they sound good despite the obvious drawbacks that come from using one horn over such a wide range, but i had to smile when i found the designers personal esthetic view as part of the "why waveguides" section 🙄
although i like nextel finish a lot, i dont see it as "superior" to other colors,
but i guess my vote doesnt count as i use shiny black SEOS horns on my own speakers 😎
OZ's uses SEOS finished in Nextel. It is shark-skin like matte surface which may even has some acoustic advantage, but difference in looks is very significant. While shiny white SEOS looks somewhat acceptable, shiny black SEOS does not.
