Yes, I might. I really want to build it, but I'm afraid it would still not be done in ten years. 🙁
Still have a set of speakers to finish (15 years in the making). Bought the B1K kit so I have something that will get finished.
Have 10 channels of gainclone, a synthesizer to totally refurbish and replace all the caps on my CRT projector.
Seems like you will be busy for the next 10-20 years. Good luck!
It is a full PCB set on my side.
Then if I am not wrong, Psykok was proposing to manage the muse chip, the related component spreadsheet is not handled by me.
As for the price I don't know which price you talk about (PCB? Components? All together?). I will provide the new PCB price + shipping cost this week to all participants for payment and order.
MCU firmware is provided.
Indeed if there is enough interested persons to do a group buy for the muse chip I will be happy to do it.
We could also add any other expensive component if needed, I have to go through le list to check.
Hello,
Just for information, what is the title of the columns in the component sheet.
kit quantity => full components?
Comp GB => ??

can i suggest to attach the gerber for the paste layer ?
i will rather appreciate them for oven soldering... thanks
Hello,
You mean the stencil? For all the PCB or only the control board?

I meant "solder paste" layer as a source to get stencil made correctly.
Usually cad exports them already adjusted with proper shrinking on apertures and other caveats that sussist when reflow soldering is needed.
I guess the most sensible ones are the control board + the two motherboard (left and right) that carries the preamp circuitery.

this columns was originally the number of component kit you were applying for .
We should maybe remove this column because we are only focusing on the muse chip and maybe other special expensive component (if necessary )
a full GB is an other story, nothing impossible.
I had the impression that people were more interested to buy just the muse chip.
the discount on this item is quite huge (around 50%) if you are able to order more that 50units.

I did a quick simulation.
The full component set for the project is about 177€ without the muse chip.
I we order this basket 20times, it gives us a 40€ discount.
As said this is just a very quick estimation done with the quick link to the mouser basket present in the BOMs.
So yes, if we have enough people interested in a full GB I can do it.

That sounds way low. I'm seeing more on the order of $700+ USD. Plus chassis'.

that’s more likely...
I calculated the parts cost for 2 channels back in 2018, excluding the muse IC, display, JFets, transformers and XLR/RCA connectors and my total was closer to what PsykoK simulated than 700 USD.
The estimated cost would depend what's included in the GB, but it's clear the cost can be substantially reduced with a GB.

My estimate was based on Algar_emi's parts list spreadsheet in post 140 of this thread. It includes the OLEDs, jacks (some), encoder, etc. Pricing is old (a bit high).
As explained this estimation was made with the saved basket link present in the different BOMs.
This baskets are not including everything, like the display, muse chips ...
I need more time to do a more accurate estimation but I don't think we will have 700€ for all the components.

After doing my homework I have the new estimation.
I got a total of 444€, without display, muse chips, rca socket, transformers and special option for the uC card.
$If we order 20 sets, the price would be about 313€
Only the relays sot around 140€, we could probably find a cheaper reference and provider.
So Pars was right with everything included we should be not too far from the 700.

Hello PsykoK, very nice of you for joining in and accepting to help us with the components group buy. The amount of money that we can spare is not to be neglected and what I can say at this time is that I am in. Hope the others will realize too that if we buy as a group can bring big benefits to all of us and join this gb.
Thanks again for your efforts.

FYI, I am in the process to update the BOM along with Mouser's baskets in order to replace the obsolete parts + correct outputs resistors values + bypass serial resistor/diode for 24v PSU operation.
I hope to release the complete set by the end of this week.
Of course, you may choose your own parts if the one I choose do not suit you.😉

Good news Eric and tanks for your amazing work.
For the relays I have use the following ref in my simulation:
D3243 TE Connectivity / P&B | Mouser France
6.44€/unit, I'm pretty sure we can find cheaper.
