Don't worry Alex. I'm about to start the assembly of my preamp, just need to clear 1-2 projects from my bench. We will start discussing the software. I have the VFD display, hence I'll need your help to make the software working correctly.
Thanks again for all this work.

I was wondering about the front panel with the display, does nobody have experience with machining it in aluminum and could share ideas or even a file for the CNC?
I could send you my DXF and .nc file for the front if you wish but that would need to be edited for you particular controller and/or choices, but i will not make them public....don't want to see rip-offs on ebay the following week, the project deserves all my respect.
I see PCBs i designed for FW F5Turbo all over ebay...that will not happen again.

Thanks a lot! Much appreciated!
Can anyone tell me if that display is OK to complete the build? Or is there something better?

I definitely recommend to use the display listed in the BOM (or just with a different OLED color if you don't like it blue) otherwise you may end-up with incompatible footprint mount or worse incompatible controller with character ROM making the provided firmware not working with that display.
Bottom line changing display will be at your own risk.
I think Eric talk about this one NHD-3.12-25664UMY3 NHD-3.12-25664UMY3 [89.2mm x 44.0mm] - $34.75 : Newhaven Display International, Inc., High Quality Standard and Custom OLEDs, LCDs and VFDs.
It is an OLED. Personnally I prefer the OLED given the recent significant progress I did on the GFX lib, it provides much larger area for display and can do graphics.
The VFD is very nice too but somewhat limited to text only.

I just checked and could not find a green version but just a yellow one.
...Put a green or blue/green filter on top.....and green you got.

Life expectancy of VFDs is also not that good nor segment consistency over time.
