Evenharmonics said:Do you mean accept an assertion that non-human can...?
it was said that non humans can not be seen to be self aware because they can not communicate with us. It seems to mr that some apes, having been shown to be able to communicate with us are indeed self-aware.
It's edited like an old music video. I don't really have a guess at this time, beyond the obvious - "clickbait."OK ... any guess as what this could be? US Aurora project 🙂
About 4 years ago, while returning from a trip I was looking out the window I saw something (100%) sure. It did not have wings (100% sure). It traveled at tremendous speed. How fast ? Don't know it came and went in a flash...within 3 seconds. It was black (100% sure)
What it was? Not sure at all. It was not a plane if you define a plane either as a delta or with wings. (100% sure). Was it a sighting? Don't know if it was. Did I ever talk about it before this. No.
What am I making of it? I really don't know but I did see something unusual. Don't want to be called a nutcase so I don't talk about it and keep quiet about it.

Classic. You must have not reviewed any of the cases. These are not just missing person cases. Many are found, rarely alive with certain similar details, time and cause of death. Many found in unreachable locations(unless they were dropped by a flying craft or popped through s portal)that the victims could not have brought themselves to. Sometimes barefoot or with clean socks, no shoes. They disappear instantly. A few people hiking, one ducks in a bush to tske a leak....gone. Sometimes they can hear the person calling. And bad weather usually interrupts the search...just weird, illogical details. The reason I threw Bigfoot out there is David Paulides who investigates these cases got an interest in BF and wrote a book on the subject and has found DNA/hair that does not match any known samples. What's also really weird is the US park service response to his info requests. This guy was a 20 year law enforcement officer, not a crackpot. He never speculates, just presents the facts. unsettling as they are. Skinwalker ranch is another busy location of the unexplained.. check them out. Common thread is Government intertest, involvement and hush hush.
"Another busy location of the unexplained."
and still see fit to hover over our cities and flash their lights?
Maybe the aliens are, like some of the posters here, a bunch of comedians.
This is likely the exhaust plume of another aircfraft which has emerged from the clouds. The observer aircraft is flying around the back of it since the ‘UFO’ is flying away at right angles. It looks solid because the plume is dense and being seen wedge on.
Ditto the flashing triangular UFO - that looks like hazard light on an aircraft. Why would vastly superior aliens flash their stuff at humans like this?
When my son’s drone goes up at night, you wouldn’t know what it was - no visual cues on its size, it’s for the most part silent etc.
Must be some type of unique aircraft. Normal crafts usually don't have that type of plumes.

That sounds quite similar to what I saw in 1968.
A dark orb with fantastic speed.
Except that it hovered motionless for 20 minutes over a nearby home, then shot straight up and dissapeared.

I had an odd experience when I was around 10 or 11 years old and was lying on my back on the backyard lawn at my house on a very clear summer day. While lying there I saw a something in the sky. It was either very small and close or big and very far away. There was no reference point in the very clear blue sky, so it was hard to tell how big it was. My young self saw it, but I doubt my current 54 year old eyes would have noticed it. It was tiny in a big sky. It looked like a low lustre metal can of roughly the same proportions of a tall beer can. It was in a fixed position in the sky for a 20 minutes or so. It didn’t move while I observed it. I know this because I was static, and because the nearby roof line of my neighbours house was close to where I saw it, and I didn’t notice any movement. If I looked away, it was easy to find it again because of the roof’s reference point. It’s interesting that at the time I didn’t think much of it. It was a weird thing I hadn’t seen before, but I didn’t think it was an alien ship. I thought it was something earthly. In retrospect, years later, what could be floating in a fixed position in the sky for 20 minutes or so that might fit my description? It appeared cylindrical, very much like a floating tin can. Nothing else to describe it. I went inside because my Grandmother called me, and when I came out after eating it was gone. Any ideas?

no idea what the heck that was but by definition, it was a ufo.
unless your hunger whilst waiting for dinner made you imagine a tin can of your favourite food was floating up there!

In the mean time, we can call it unidentified flying object, I suppose. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm not sure if it's intentional or not but you missed the point. I was trying to explain Discopete that his conclusion is premature and tizman cited better example in the following post. Same can be said to you as well if you believe our current level of observation technology covers all there can be by any intelligent life that if nothing shows up now then it's a sure bet that there is none out there. These types of arguments strain the limits of credibility to the point of credulity, like the ‘dark forest hypothesis’ or ‘they came to teach us’ etc.
YouTube is full of this stuff.
I find it interesting that people find it very easy to automatically discount other people’s experiences. While there are no doubt people who are attention seekers, confused or crazy, I find the flip dismissal of other people’s sometimes traumatic experiences sad.
Here is another story that was related to my wife and I from a lady that we had recently met a few years back at a mutual friend’s BBQ. It was night time, and my wife jokingly commented that the clear night would be ideal for UFO watching. The lady then told us about her and her husband driving in a convertible on a summer night on quiet country road north of Toronto. While driving back to her parents house, (they were dating at the time) they noticed what she described as a van size orb following their car just above and a little behind them. This orb had no distinguishing features, was a dark and metallic but not shiny, and was silent. It followed them for a few minutes, and then disappeared. She didn’t seem happy about the occurrence, as both her and her husband were shaken by it. Of course, I did the right thing and told her she was either lying or delusional. I mean, it’s impossible right?

Maybe or maybe not. Until it's unconfirmed, I wouldn't conclude one way or the other.and still see fit to hover over our cities and flash their lights?
When "seems" and "indeed" are mixed in one sentence, what is the end result? Some kind of half-hearted acknowledgement?it was said that non humans can not be seen to be self aware because they can not communicate with us. It's hard to say. I don't think the description given rules out a kite in the distance. In retrospect, years later, what could be floating in a fixed position in the sky for 20 minutes or so that might fit my description? I saw a UFO when I was a teen. It appeared as a steady light at a high speed and high altitude. But nothing like an airplane. It was a mystery; I couldn't identify it.
Some years later I made it a point to view the night passing of the space shuttle or station, I can't remember which. But while watching it, I recognized how closely it resembled what I had witnessed those years before.

to re-state, yes, I would say apes are self aware.
Well, maybe the third option?About 4 years ago, while returning from a trip I was looking out the window I saw something (100%) sure. It did not have wings (100% sure). It traveled at tremendous speed. How fast ? Don't know it came and went in a flash...within 3 seconds. It was black (100% sure)

I've seen u.f.o. in the past. It was u. at the time (I was about 9). Then I learned about meteor so it was no longer u. to me.
So are tiny tropical fish...and my dog. 🙂to re-state, yes, I would say apes are self aware.
