In my defense I did point out that the "Dark Forest Hypothesis" was part of the plot of a science fiction novel. Keep in mind too that we're talking about flying saucers here....you should expect to hear things that stain the limits of credibility to the point of credulity...

we don’t care who originated and published the Dark Forest concept, it resonates with many of us as being very plausible!
When you look at societies that have flourished and been successful it would seem that violence and aggression are prerequisites for success....

It’s definitely the human modus operandi. Hopefully, with aliens we will be more lucky than we deserve based on our own history.

it is a great twist of human nature that many would read this, feel sad, feel the wrong in it, see the obviousness of it, yet also be part of the society that was responsible and in fact continues on this obviously wrong path.
