Earth sized is not Earth - like, Venus is Earth sized.

Then there's life capable of interstellar communications/travel.
Dolphins are intelligent, been around longer than humans, can't build a radio or a spacecraft.
And I've seen similar hypothoses that mention having a large moon such as ours is desirable. Same with the right axis tilt/seasons, single star vs binary system, much larger planets in the outer solar system to suck up comets/asteroids vs large planets closer to the star that seems to be much more common. All sorts of variables that never made it into that famous Drake Equation.

Just nitpicking, I thought our moon is in mid size club in our solar system.
Need limbs with manipulating (grab, twist, push...etc.) capabilities so that it can use tools to build things including transportation. Also need to be in air environment so that it can harness fire to harvest and manipulate raw materials.

While I think it is ignorant to believe that humans are the pinnacle of intelligence in our solar system, it's still a remote possibility.
UFO doesn't need to mean aliens. It's just unknown to current understandings of the technology around flight. These objects defied what is thought to be possible and therefore cannot be identified. That is all. If some government had a highly advanced technology like this, it's totally reasonable to think it would be too secret and likely employed against other nations.
It's like the pyramids and thinking aliens built them... Kind of insulting to humanity in a way as it jumps over the fact humans can learn to do something amazing, then forget how to do it over a span of 6000 years. I think that is the simplest explanation and not that hard to grasp. I can't even remember a 5 year old password to an online account FFS. Someone told me they showed how it was done, so maybe we are past that one, but I'm sure there are still those that... Believe, heh.

there are most definitely flying saucers out there, iv seen one clear as day in scandinavia about 100m above ground with the entire bottom rotating at high speed. cars stopped on the highway and people got out to watch. i didnt hear any noise to indicate jet like Harrier veritcal takeoff or anything.
i called the airforce and they said they picked up nothing on the radar in the area. this was a long time ago so no smart cellphones with cameras etc.
...but they are made on earth duh. atleast in my opinion.

Occam's razor- consider the whack-a-doodle explanations last. Time is the problem here, combined with our inability to even conceive of the scale. Even if extraterrestrial intelligence exists, the chance of it overlapping with our existence is minimal. If there is an overlap you still need faster-than-light travel to do anything about it. By the time you, or they, hear a radio signal, that civilization is probably long gone. We also only think of intelligence in terms of ourselves or dolphins or similar, and with similar motives. IMO, that shows a complete lack of imagination.
A conversation I had with a structural engineer who worked in Egypt back in the 90's, when he explained to construction workers (can speak English) how and where to start the construction, then come back the next day and found out that all that explanations have been in vain because the work done was a complete mess. He said he would rather believe the story of ET built pyramids.

People keep mentioning the distances but time is just as large. And to meet the 2 alien races have to exist in the same time as well as space. We've been around for a blink of an eye compared to 14,000,000,000 years. Thats another needle in a haystack.
I think I saw a doc that said water is rare on inner planets, there mostly made from heavier atoms/molecules and most of the water in a solar system is in the outer gassier planets. Our water came from collisions, so this much water is rare on a rock.

Other factors that helped.
The earths magnetic field (how many planets have this much iron or nickel) and our ozone stops solar radiation.
The right temperature for liquid water.
Some say the moons tidal forces and even the right amount of radioactive elements to drive mutations made a difference.
And if that meteor didn't wipe out the dinosaurs would we exist?
There have been 5 mass extinctions and finally we appeared. And we may disappear soon, around for a usec galactic time.
Sure theres life out there but life inteligent enough to visit thousands of stars? (at this rate, something we will never do). And according to these reports theres dozens of these alien races here right now.
