Better reception...
make yourself a good DIY antenna. Or buy one. I know that the FM-Dynalab ones are excellent. The vertical ST-2 can be located in your attic or mounded outside at the peak of your roof. It is a 54" (1/2 λ antenna) with a transformer coil (or is it a choke?).
Yagi type of aerials are still out there. Many can be had from scrap, as lots of folks throw them out, after all, who uses an antenna for TV now?
I'm sure there are DIY antenna posts here, so do a search 🙂
You may al;so try something like this. Cheap, and easy to make, and much better than any of the simple dipole "T" types

I stripped few consoles in the past and i found good parts and tubes.
I buy a pair of Fleetwood loudspeakers in a yard sale because i was too curious to see what's inside. The tweeter is typical to what you can find in cheap consoles but the woofer seems interesting. The sound is good after all.

I have been collecting consoles for a while hoping to build a stereo set amp. People are THROWING THEM AT THE SKIP! Tandberg, Radionette and other old consoles. Crazy!
