Hi, I have added all the relevant measurements below + plots.

Supply voltage : +/-24VDC <-> +/-35VDC
Bandwidth : 1,4Hz <-> 1.5MHz
Slewrate : 53V/us
Zin : 10KOhm.
Zout : 71mOhm.
Peakcurrent continous out : 12.3Apeak

As you can see the clipping into 1,8Ohm is soft.

If everything goes good with the sale Kristian and I have something similar to this Jeff Rowland preamp in mind for the DIY community.

Our plan is to supply the community with an preamp design which go hand in hand with the softstart and our amp modules to make it possible to make your own integrated amp or just an preamp.

We will supply the following:

  • Milled frontpanel
  • TFT 2.4" 262144 color 320x240 pixel high brightness/contrast display
  • discrete and timeless graphics. Easy to read from distance
  • IR interface for universal remote
  • Backpanel with preamp integrated balanced as well as unbalanced inputs
  • Preamp will be same quality as the rest of our products.
  • Digital frontpanel feed by the softstart +5V out. (Connector J1)
We are curious to hear if this has any interest.

BL drive rev 1.1:

Data:
Zin : 10K - 100K on request
Zout : 39mOhm
Bandwidth : DC - 1.3MHz
Distortion into 1K @ 5.6Vrms @ 1KHz : 0.001248%
Distortion into 1K @ 5.6Vrms @ 100KHz : 0.006969%
See attached distortion plot.

Features:
First stage:
2 x Diamond buffer enhanced with CFP driving in bridged balanced mode.
currentmirror driving discrete inverted opamp.
No global feedback in the first stage

Second stage:
2 x discrete CFB opamp in inverted mode driving each amp.
Uses virtual GND from amp modules reducing ground loops.
drives down to 100R load.
Short global feedback loop.
Compensated to drive capacitive loads.

Tomorrow i will email schematic to those who have committed to buy the BL drive module. (Buzzforb is an exception - I will mail you to)

Hi Sonnya,

If I buy to amp modules, can I buy it with top parts included but not soldered? Reason I'm asking is that I would maybe add some of my own preferred components.

Also, did you get a chance to compare it with Lazy Cat FO?

Thanks
Do

Yes, you just have to specify it in the order. But we cannot test the boards, just that you know it.

No i have not had an opportunity to compare it with Lazy Cat's first one.

But i will send an sample to Joachim Gerhard. I think he has the first one.

- Sonny
