TPA3255 - all about DIY, Discussion, Design etc

Hi Daniboun, I wrote that it was not balanced.

And for half the price. can be okay on a tight budget. In addition there is a remote control, much better than a motor that is useless. Is not it. Me personally I would not buy this amp, would be ready for the one you show, but maybe practical.

Sure ) I am still wondering about that motorized volume pot.... Anyway I will test it and then come back to you ) I am curious to see )

Amigos !

I made a test this week end with a TPA325X amp + Dual Tripath amp : OPA2210 super Beta (Bipolar) OP amps vs OPA1656 and OPA1692.
I left the OPA1656 for the left channel Slot DIP1 and put the OPA2210 for the right channel slot DIP2, so as not to distort the listening

For those unfamiliar with the OPA 2210, I highly recommend giving it a try! they are bluffing !

https://www.ti.com/product/OPA2210
They bring a lot of micro details to the listening, while remaining very transparent. They have the soundstage of the 1656, with all the musicality of the OPA1692. So I ordered 8 OPA2210 that I will go up in DIP8 adapters.

when you plug your cable into the macbook check the RCA pins for any DC on the pins. Does the macbook headphone jack multi use? ie volume control, mic input etc

Try a 10k pot verses a 100k. These amps have a low input impedance.
I guess it was a groundloop issue

also the sound interface < TRS Connecter of my sons macbookpro12,1 A1502 3.1 GHz Core i7 (I7-5557U) < it seem to have fried the onboard sound chip it doesnt recognized anymore
regardless if I clean boot from an external drive or internal.....

I measured everything before connecting there is NO DC voltage on RCA sockets.. no audible hiss when turning the potio to 90-100% on speakers... and I used an "old" mp3 player as source for saftey sounds crystal clear connected my laptop perfect sound..

thanks for you help guys I dont know what was wrong but mayor issue was a groundloop i somehow created

Red wire should be grounded if not use.

Hello,

I have built an amp around the 3e TPA3255 board. A pretty straightforward build since this is my first DIY amp. To power it I am using a SMPS300RS.
I have been scratching my head a couple of hours already on an issue and I hope you guys can help me.

I feed the amplifier input with an unbalanced signal though RCA connectors. The signals from the RCA connectors are connected respectively to IN1+ and IN2+ pins on the amplifier board and the signal grounds from the RCA connectors are connected to the AGND pins on the board.

The j3 and j4 jumpers are set to 'single ended' (far left position).

To test it I connect an mp3 player via a minijack to RCA cable. I am using small bookshelf speakers as output. When powered up, the small 3V3 led on the amplifier board lights up. No fault led lightning up.

There is absolutely no sound coming out of the speakers, no music, not even noise from fiddling with the RCA input or humming.
The mp3 player, the speakers, the RCS cable have been tested independently and are working correctly.

What did I miss in the build?

(do not mind the front panel connectors, vu meters and potentiometer in the below images they are not connected)

I don't see anything different between my board and yours... Signal inputs correct (gnd to center and + to left) , SE jumper correct... Outputs are the same (not in picture)... 3.3v led illuminated.. Did you ever have the 3e playing at all?
